Is Retro-bit adapter Mac compatible?
Hello
I’ve been eyeing up the Retro-bit USB to Atari controller adapter for use with FS-UAE and other emulators I have. Thing is, they do not specifically say it’s Mac compatible. Plus a few Google searches are inconclusive and suggest there might be a few issues with OS X. Does anyone have one? Does it work on OS X Mavericks? Fully? Both ports? Any tricky configuration with FS-UAE required? Also, how does the Genesis/Megadrive version differ? Does that work with Atari-like joysticks too? If so, would that be better? So many questions for a first posting. Thanks. |

I know this reply is very late, but I thought it might be useful in case anyone else found it in a Google search.
Anyway, I have the RetroBit USB adapter connected to an Atari CX-40 joystick. The adapter only works for joysticks. It doesn't work for paddles or other non-joystick devices. I had initial problems getting it to work in FS-UAE until I found this link: http://ko-gathering.com/forum/viewto...p?f=11&t=17245 On that site, someone did the research to determine that you needed to create a custom controller file and save it in the Controllers directory. Here is the configuration file needed for the RetroBit adapter: # ATARI Controller USB [device] name = ATARI Controller USB type = unspecified [default] axis_0_neg = left axis_0_pos = right axis_2_neg = up axis_2_pos = down button_0 = 1 button_1 = 1 button_2 = 1 Once I set this up, I had no problems using my CX-40 joystick in FS-UAE.
