How bad is this a600motherboard?
Well it will turn on and work with a gotek floppy (no floppy drive... But I tried a CF to ide on it and got no power, so I used some IPA and cotton wool stick to clean up around it and saw this....
im guessing i need a recap on this board before any repairs I have no ability to do soldering(shaky hands) so is this beyond repair or can anyone fix it? |

thanks for the offer, i definetely am interested, just need to source a box since im stuck at home a lot lol
on a side note - i got another a600 in the same bundle, everything seems to work except ide on that - is there a chance i've done something wrong overall the hold down both mouse buttons only says df0 and cc0 and workbench 3.1 disks cant see it on this either, but theres no noticable corrsion, and if i put the jumper as slave the red led comes on as solid, but if i do it as master then nothing. am i just doing something wrong :/ |

@morh check the kickstart revision on the one where the ide does not work
As from the wiki Confusingly, all three ROM revisions were officially designated as version "2.05". Some early A600s shipped with Kickstart 37.299, which had neither support for the internal ATA controller, nor for the PCMCIA interface. Although it is possible to load the necessary drivers from floppy disk, it is not possible to boot directly from ATA or PCMCIA devices. Models fitted with Kickstart 37.300 or 37.350 can utilize those devices at boot time. Version 37.350 improved compatibility with ATA hard disks by increasing the wait time for disks to spin up during boot The rom revision should Show up at the insert floppy boot screen Last edited by 512k; 26 June 2020 at 23:20. |

The PCBs a bit dirty but no obvious broken tracks that I can, It does look like the caps have leaked though as the solder on the caps is very dull and I think I see a bit of corrosion on the pins at U12 so I would highly recommend getting the caps replaced ASAP.
