OK looks like NoNetwork is not the issue - I just uninstalled WHDLoad, re-installed version 18.0, and I am still getting the same issue. It is definitely network related, as if I remove the above AmiTCP code from my startup sequence it works fine.

So any other ideas? What doesn't WHDLoad like about AmiTCP?

http://whdload.de/docs/en/bugs.html

Maybe with the execute startup/cleanup command for AmiTCP in WHLDLoad.prefs it works as expected. Examples are in the archive too.

Quote:
;
; example script to be used with WHDLoad option ExecuteStartup
; stop all software which can cause interrupts with external hardware
; optionally free memory to allow WHDLoad better PreLoad
;

; stop the IP-stack via ARexx
;C:rx offline.rexx

; stop Genesis with a X-Surf card
;AmiTCP:bin/offline x-surf0

; stop Poseidon USB-stack
;C:AddUSBHardware REMOVE ALL

; set compatible speed and disable JIT for UAE
;uae-configuration cpu_speed real cachesize 0

OK thanks I think we're making progress here, I just don't have the syntax right. I have an Ariadne II network card, so need to change this somehow:

AmiTCP:bin/offline x-surf0

Any ideas? Tried this but it doesn't work

AmiTCP:bin/offline ariadne_ii0

Mmh, where exactly is the AmiTCP file, in C:?

ExecuteStartup=Execute C:AmiTCP:bin/offline ariadne_ii0

Something like that. Can't test it, i don't have Amiga network.

Bingo! Thanks for your help. This did the trick if anybody else has this problem:

AmiTCP:bin/offline ariadne_ii.device 0

And then you obviously have to add this to the WHDLoad.Cleanup file:

AmiTCP:bin/online ariadne_ii.device 0
