Biplanes?
I've got a feeling this might not be an Amiga game (it could have been for the spectrum), but there might have been an amiga version...
The game is where you (and a friend maybe) fly a plane over an island, and drop bombs on it. The bombs blow holes in the ground, and when there's enough holes the island sinks. You might have had to sink ships too. Anyway, the game was side on, and after each island (ship) you move on to the next. Vague enough? |

There was a really cool PD game called Bi-Planes that was, I think, based on an old Intellivision game.

It's good, but it's not the one
Bi-planes: great game but I know it's not this.
Wings of Fury: Might be. I'll download it and give it a go tonight. Cheers all. |

There is a game in Mame called Twin Tigers, where you have to sink ships as you describe; but there are no islands in this game. I don't know if an Amiga version exists though; I expect not.

It might not exist then...
I've had a look at Wings of Fury, and it's similar to what I was looking for, but it's not it. The game I'm thinking of doesn't scroll - if you go off the side of the screen, you come back on the other side. I'm almost certain this isn't an Amiga game now though, so you guys can stop wracking your brains! I'll still check out Twin Tigers, in case it's closer to what I want...

Yep, the game was Two Tigers, judging by the screenshots of it on MAME sites - there must have been a version on the spectrum (the arcade cpu was the Z80). I'm guessing there was no Amiga version from the responses in this thread.

There was also a (great) version on the commo 64, called "Island of Dr. Destructo".
I remember playing this one with a friend of mine over and over again... |
