Chill Andreas.

Still he has a point, methinks EAbot, in spite of its amusing stupidity has a limited lifespan and should be eventually got rid off once ive run out of ways to poke fun at its limitations

First, I'm not offended...

And... "unbiased personal point of view"? That's kind of a fallacy mate

When the bot's limited lifespan burns out, we wont talk to it and thats it . It's very interesting to see it running and "learning" though

Eek

Didn't know that eabot has a limited lifespan like a Tamagotchi, sorry!
At least some hope...

Two things:

1) eabot does not respond at all to any /msg-commands. At least not to mine. This does not seem to be a temporary problem , I often try /msg eabot help but without any success.

2) I was away for a week and now eabot does not recognize me anymore. I didn't change my ISP or use a different IRC client now, everything is the same as before.

Any ideas?

she talks only when RCK enables her.
as for recognizing you, this seems to be a random problem, but some irc op can explain it better than me i think
btw she recognize me as she loves me

I'm in there, and I did not change anything since I last got recognized. Oh well, eabot seems to be quite picky .

Thumbs down Virtual Flirting ?

Sorry guy,s but this is seriously SAD , don,t you ever take the time to chat to real women with real comeback lines and the ability to be original ? heck getting some sub routine to regurgitate failed chat up lines is hardly progress and if your ever going to appreciate the complex nuiances of the female pysche you seriously need to be talking and LISTENING { then considering !} the viewpoints they raise .
Because this eabot " whiskey dolly/goodtime girl " is just an echo of your masculine fantasies and about as valid as the model Jordans perceptions of female exploitation !

After spending years on the IRC, I have to say that bots are irritating at the best of times, but to have them talk back to you in a tarty manner is pathetic.

Let the bots keep the channel open, +o and +v people, but get rid of the crap and talk to each other! That's the idea of IRC after all.

EABOT haven't had the Eliza engine in it for AGES now so you what's all this pointless whining?.

It was fun for the week or so that it lasted

You are thinking a AI intelligence bot is a new idea? Or the first interaction on the IRC?

It's been going for years, and they are no better or funnier after five minutes of some cretin whittering on with it.

Six years of newbies ask for a drink or peanuts in #EnglishPub sort of puts you off these bloody things.

Akira didn't say that the bot in the EAB IRC channel was a first.

He merely pointed out that the backlash in this thread is about something which appeared and swiftly disappeared over a year ago.

eabot simply provides channel services.

It's been [snip!]
Please, learn to read, and lay off year old threads that make absolutely no sense anymore.

RCK,

Please put EABot back online in full-flirting mode.

I'd rather talk to a machine than anyone on here!

If I reactivate it, it would only for private conversation with eabot, to not flood the main chan.

That's cool

I am already thinking of how many hours I could spent each night passionately talking to Ms. Bot (I hope she is a Miss)

If you could reactivate her for private as soon as possible it would be most appreciated before I forget all the chat-up-lines I am trying to remember !
