I guess it's for ShapeShifter? If you're sure that it's not being sold anymore we could host it if somebody has an archive of it.

That download is "temporarily unavailable due to high bandwidth costs". It is not clear what time frame "temporarily" refers to in this context. My guess is that the situation would be more accurately explained if that word were omitted.

Seems like the original game can't be purchased anymore (I assume the GOG version won't work on classic hardware). If somebody has the game archive, he can upload it to his user folder and post here.

seems temporarily means "for ever"
in the comments there is a guy who in 2009 was offering his account to store the game

It's 34MB archive, please wait some time. File downloaded from chomikuj.pl (free account required) and splitted with 7zip from 7zip.org

thank you s2325.

the zip file from the website seems to have corrupted data:
Code:
...\Contents\MacOS\DOSBox. The file is corrupt
...\Contents\Resources\aid3\an38.pak. The file is corrupt
...\Contents\Resources\aid3\an48.pak. The file is corrupt
for you too?

Edit: since DosBox is included, i asume its the old dos version

Yes but I thought it's because zip files for Macintosh are slightly different.

cannot say for sure, but i found another download for the dos version, so one can exchange the corrupted files.

edit: i found the macintosh version, uploading to the zone.

found a list of old mac sites at betaarchive:
http://macintoshgarden.org/
https://sites.google.com/site/oldmacarchive/
https://sites.google.com/site/oldmacarchive/links
http://abandonmac.com/
http://uberhost.dyndns.org/machut/
http://nbbemulation.free.fr/forum_macintosh/

abandonmac got the image. was protected with password so, i re-packed it. may someone test the game?

i found a little tool , which converts dmg files to hfplus or iso images. windows/linux/sourcecoe available too: dmg2img
if you can convert it to a image, then you may mount this as a partition, if dmg2iso works, then you have a mountable iso ( mac format, hfplus or the like).

dmg2img does convert the dmg image, no errors. but i have no working mac emulator to test it. i think it's now a virtual hardrive, with some partitions. just try

maybe hfsexplorer will read / convert the dmg file - yes, it can open/read the dmg image.

they also have DMGExtractor - will create iso image from dmg. so you can mount the iso in shapeshifter ( i hope it can do it ).

i can see some .exe files in the directory tree - is this another dos version or maybe a hybrid cd image? i'm confused.

edit: filesize of the dmg file: 69,4 MB (72.818.625 Bytes)

those utilities don't work
you can convert it to iso or img but then you can't mount those images on windows
poweriso or daemon tools don't mount that converted iso images also do not mount DMG images
so all is obsolete because basilisk can't recognize the cd images

I'm trying to run the game on basilisk on windows first.....then when the game is installed correctly copy it to my A1200 to run it using shapeshifter

but nothing works here...can anyone help please ?

i'm not 100% sure, but the problem is the mac specific filesystem. called HFS or HFS+. windows need a driver to recognize it - but it is not available. but you can use the HFSExplorer ( it does need java installed ).
if you open the dmg with that tool, you can copy the listed files onto a windows poartition.

this way there is a chance to destroy mac specific file-attributes ( such resource fork things ).

do you have a stuffit-expander in your macintosh emulation? this tool should also extract the dmg file. maybe older versions of stuffit-expander cannot open more recently created dmg files.

here is a link to stuffit-expander.

some years ago there was another hfsexplorer, native win32 application, but i cannot find it anymore.

edit: i extracted the thing an uploaded to the zone. i hope it works somehow.

OK I extracted the files inside that DMG using a tool called Transmac
but the game you uploaded it's not he MAC version is the spanish PC DOS version inside a DMG image
I assumed you downloaded that from abandonmac.com
it's better to delete those versions from the zone because it cause confusion...both version uploaded are DOS
thanks anyways

btw, seems that there is not yet a tosec collection of MAC 68k games
I wonder why...there are lot of interesting games , 99% of them compatible with the Amiga using emulators
and
lot of mac MAC games are better than DOS versions as for example Flashback and Alone in the dark trilogy...they have better GFX and run in 640x400 while DOS versions run at 320x200

too bad, i had some doubts when i saw so many .exe files after extracting first. there was hope of an hybrid install ... and i could not find a dosbox file inside, maybe they just renamed it ( MacOS folder ). i remove the files from zone.
well, at least you got some info about extracting dmg images

Edit: uploaded alone 3 demo, comes in sit archive - please test.

thanks,
the demo works perfect
I tested it on basilisk on windows and on shapeshifter under winuae
so the game must work on the Amiga
I will continue searching for the full game
if u found the full game please post
