Damiano I used the 060 versions (they work also with the 030), as you can see in the 3 Archives the files have different sizes.

About RTG Master works well with this library, see video attached, also the "PIP Display" works only that it's slow.

I've tried using all of them, but WinUAE "halts" when "RTGMaster" is set:

... Abuse
... Abuse030
... Abuse040
... Abuse060

Abuse never had a version with CD music, you are supposed to create an audio CD from the game's midi files.

I did that using these ogg conversions of General Midi recordings http://www.vgmpf.com/Wiki/index.php?title=Abuse_(DOS), my Bin/Cue CD image and cd.ini file can be downloaded here https://mega.nz/file/E5phja6a#p2wayt...qrgFDZLauQZB5U

The CD implementation seems to be little buggy though, as intro and level 3 music doesn't play. My cd.ini shouldn't be blamed, I made sure to assign each track correctly by playing all the games hmi files on a DOS midi player.

Very nice Aardvark, many thanks

Off to give this a try

Hmmm, the CD mounts fine / plays via Windows.

However if I try to mount / browse in WinUAE I get this:

...this means when the game starts the CD / audio is not picked up.

Also, a question about your "cd.ini" file:

Code:
[CD120C5B400229E0]

	music/intro.hmi = 1
	music/abuse00.hmi = 2
	music/abuse01.hmi = 3
	music/abuse02.hmi = 4
	music/abuse03.hmi = 3
	music/abuse04.hmi = 5
	music/abuse06.hmi = 6
	music/abuse08.hmi = 7
	music/abuse09.hmi = 8
	music/abuse11.hmi = 9
	music/abuse13.hmi = 10
	music/abuse15.hmi = 15
	music/abuse17.hmi = 11
	music/Victory.hmi = 12

[NAMES]
What happened to "abuse07.hmi", "abuse10.hmi", "abuse12.hmi", "abuse14.hmi" and "abuse16.hmi"?

I'm guessing there's no music on these stages in the DOS version.

Oh, I should mention that I set the "[CD**************]" line as follows in the "cd.ini" file:

This is what "GetCDID" picks up for WinUAE's virtual "uaescsi.device".

Only the developers know, those are all the midi files included in the game.

Another oddity is that abuse01.hmi and abuse03.hmi are identical files, also abuse15.hmi and Victory.hmi are identical.

And it seems I made and an error in my cd.ini, abuse15.hmi should be assigned to CD track 12, not 15.

I don't know why your Workbench wants to treat it as data cd. I'm using Idefix97 on my config, and it works fine.

Cheers for the info

Tried using installing / using AsimCDFS to mount the CD.

It now shows as "Title_Unknown". If I do a "dir" things look funny though, not sure if that's normal:

Edit: if I go into any of the above folders I see the tracks.

However, still no music in game for me

This is what the GetCDID info should look like:

CDing an audio CD doesn't make sense to me, and should be resulting a well deserved error message!

Anyway, will try the above

Nope, still no music being played from the AsimCDFS mounted CD-ROM...

The following is what I use to start the game:

I'm now at a loss what to try next

If you have installed RTMaster and rtgPIP.library, it all depends on how you set it.

Try using my abuse.ini without changing anything and choose the entries as screenshots.

Very normal, AsimCDF manages the audio tracks in that way, you can copy the audio tracks without using programs to capture the tracks, AsimCDFS also manages other things that others can not do.

Yes, I've installed the same version of RTGMaster (v42.0); AHI (v4.18) and also Picasso96 (v2.0).

I haven't installed rtgPIP as I'm not really interested with running in a Window.

It's exactly the same as mine, except I have the default "10 channels".

Were you able to get Aardvark's audio CD working for music also?

If the CD audio tracks work, put any Audio CD (ISO or CD Audio) in your PC, open a Shell and run "GetCDID uaescsi.device 0".
Made this copy ID code from the CD.ini file (above and below), then use my Abuse.ini

Abuse RTG + Audio Track

Same problem with AHI also works here with an old version, with version 6.7 it doesn't work with audio.
You can use different versions of ixemul by using avail flush and renaming the libraries (as long as you only run one ixemul program at a time).
The ix_probs scripts on aminet were made to deal with this problem.

http://aminet.net/package/util/batch/ix_probs

Also works really well for Wazp3D and Quarktex.
I would recommend running the scripts in user-startup too - in case the game crashes and the libraries are not set back to your preferred defaults.

You do have the .hmi files in your music drawer? (Abuse-Free does not include the music files)
What version of cdplayer.library are you using?

Yes I know the Flush application that cleans the libraries from memory, i don't want to do this, there is also another better method and that is to delete the ixemul libraries from LIBS, and put the libraries in the game/program folder, but I was looking for an updated version of Abuse that was compatible with the new ixemul, same thing for AHI

I'll try ix_probs anyway, thank you Giacomo

Oh my God, forgot to copy "cdplayer.library" from A1_4.lzx --> "Libs"

Music now work after installing AsimCDFS

...doesn't work if I don't have the above installed and just tick "CDFS automount CD/DVD drives" plus mount the image. Guess this is normal.

The Audio Tracks also work well with WinUAE "CDFS automount CD/DVD drives", you don't need AsimCDFS
CD created by Aardvark doesn't seem to be supported, if you create an ISO with Nero Burning (NRG) everything will work properly.

Thanks for all your help guys; I now have everything setup just the way I want it

"RTGMaster" still doesn't work for some reason but, I'm ok using "CGFX/Picasso96".
