How about "What's the score?" This could mean information, prices, whatever and is a perfectly usable English phrase.

This would also fit the context in RN's link above ^^^

Or maybe "Do you know the figures?"

'Er hat es in sich' implies some sort of challenge/danger, while I think 'it has a lot to offer' is more like opportunities of some kind. Hope that makes sense

Sort of. You mean like "He has it in for you", which could means possible bad things...

... which implies "Watch your step."

No "he", the planet Irada. This was the our last try.

Quote:
Irada is strange, the people provide information to everyone, but let me assure you, this planet is a pretty rough place.

@ R-N

I am trying to figure this out; this is what the Americans might call "it's going on here" or "it's all going down here" (sounds better in a '70s Huggy Bear accent lol)

It's pretty hard to translate German phrases into proper English.

How about settlling for,

Quote:
The locals are always saying all sorts of things about this place, but let me tell you, it's all going on here.
That's open ended and can imply dodgy deals, skullduggery etc. and that's how it would be interpreted in English.

Hmm, sounds not bad Merlin. I like the way that it only implies the roughness and doesn't put it in directly

Eep! Quite a bit of conversation going on here. Interestingly I had come to the translation "Can you give us any figures?" by myself. I'll ponder the Irada line some more. Now, I'm still looking to do something with this:

Quote:
Sieh mal an, wollt ihr mir das wirklich andrehen?

Look here, are you trying to rip me off?
I repeat, you get this question while trying to sell illegal goods, and you have to answer affirmatively to actually sell them. It doesn't make much sense to be going "Yes, I fully intend to rip off with this deal." and then happily continue the transaction.

Here's another little exchange I do not quite know what to do with.
Quote:
-Wollt ihr streit anfangen? Dann versuch es nur...
-Aber nicht doch. (Ist doch cool mann.)
-Zieht leine!

-Looking for trouble? Just try it!
-No, don't. (It's cool man.)
-Get lost!

Are these any better?

- Aber nicht doch. (Ist doch cool mann.)

- Of course not. (It's all cool man.)
or
- Stop it. (It's cool man.)

Can't say which one is more suited. Maybe 'Not with you' fits better here

That might fit a bit better and sounds a bit more in line with the conversation....it's more forceful.

Converting German slang to English slang isn't easy, is it?
