Anyone recognise this?

I was casually just casually listening on streamed 80's music channel and this came on(from 2:56 on as time link doesnt seem to work):

Does it remind anyone of anything?

No responses but does it sound like:

Doom's music was famously "inspired by" existing commercial music so there actually is a chance that this one is not a coincidence

Well you're savvy. Sounds like Goldrunner, and another track on the LP is "Watch Out" like as sampled in the game.

to be fair it happens quite a bit stumbling onto existing sequences of notes especially if you're playing freeform

Exactly. It's not possible to confirm 100% what their inspiration was for every song. Much is assumed based on the music they listened to back then. And this is rather thrash, hardrock,...

Just having one or two shared notes doesn't make an inspiration for me. Definitely not the song in the initial post.

Still, you never know. Media is for a large part taking what you know and rolling with it. So who knows what inspired the metal artists that involuntarily made their way onto the Doom soundtrack
