This may sound silly but try disk 3 as disk 2. There was a flashtro version floating around with a mix up in the zip file, if you didn't get the flashtro version from THE ZONE but elsewhere then this could be your problem.

No, I've tried that just in case. It's The Zone files. Also tried write/non-write protected disks and various configurations. Even tried my "official" Amiga Forever 1.3 ROM. - (not using AF at all now). Also renamed filenames to simply 1.adf etc. Sometimes long Window paths cause problems, but that's not it.

Musashi's version works fine for me, just checked it. Disk 2 is recognised without any problem.

I tried the version already in the zone.
"Leander (1991)(Psygnosis)(cr Flashtro]"

Oh and btw, the Melnok crack in latest TOSEC seems to be bad, well at least disk 2.
Disk 2 is suspiciously small when compressed and it also gave me a guru when I inserted the disk.
That was using a standard A500 config with extra drive, A1200 was a no go.

Musashi's version works fine with A1200 config.

Melnok version zoned if anybody wants to investigate further.

Near 03:10 he (more or less) says that he has done a post-recording mix between the music and the sound effects as the game only allows one of them and because his viewers seem to have asked him to do so for games like that.

Therefore he probably recorded a playthrough with SFX and then added the music (previously recorded) to each parts.

I posted in the "bad cracks" thread about this. I'm not sure if my 3-disk Leander was done by Melnok or not (quite likely because he and I were friends at the time), but if it is, my .DMS of disk 2 is a very reasonable size. I'll check it and get back to you.

@Retroplay

My Leander was a 3-disk version and was cracked by Melnok. Disk 2 is on the file server in .DMS format.

Path and filename is: /Commodore_Amiga/Game/Disk/Beholder CD/L/LNDR2.DMS

I apologize in advance if giving the path and filename is against forum rules.

If someone has a 100% working version, please re-upload it to the Zone!

Has anyone confirmed whether or not Melnok's 3-disk crack (with the working disk 2 I referenced earlier) was a 100% crack as well?

Sorry forgot about this.
I still get a guru with the LNDR2.DMS image using an A500 config + 512kb slow and DF1.

I'll make it a point to try this out on my physical A500 and see what results I get. When do you get the guru? When switching disks?

It happens when I press fire at the "Start Game/Options" screen.

I'll dig out my A500 later and test on real hardware as it might be an emulator issue.

[edit]
Same thing happens on my real A500, guru right after I insert disk 2.

On my A1200 it loads fine but has garbled graphics (OCS and caches disabled) and sound is playing too slow.

OK, I finally got around to writing this out to disk and booting it up on my physical A500 and can confirm, unfortunately, that the game gurus when it tries to read disk 2. It looks like way back when, when I originally DMS'ed the disks for my CD, the DMS was bad. So in the end, Melnok's crack of this is probably lost. I tried KS 3.1 and 1.3, NTSC and PAL, tried it on my 3000, and that seemed to work a little better, but the game still never played.

I don't know if anyone wants to dig into this crack a bit more and try to figure out the problem, but now I'm also on the hunt for a 100% crack of this game.

Hi Brett,

Do you still have that DMS file?

If so, would you upload it please. It might be possible to fix it.
