Of course, all Lemon players are welcome to post scores here until the site finally comes back so please spread the word if you know anyone who isn't aware. And if anyone new who takes part would like to be part of Lemon's team please let me know when you post a score.

I propose that we play with the games default settings, it should not be allowed to alter enemy bullet speed, upgrade delay time and so on in the menu accessible with space bar.

Agreed, I'd expect you to do well this round harry

Something I've been meaning to bring up in regards to rules; the use of auto-fire..
I noticed some time ago that the use of auto-fire is allowed which surprised me.
I personally don't think it should be permitted at all for 2 reasons.
1) not everybody is able to use it..
2) whoever can use it has a massive advantage over those that can't

If the game itself has an auto-fire option then ok, but I think this rule should change.

The rule is auto fire is allowed as long as the game doesn't have a collectable upgrade for auto fire.

As to whether its fair i don't care. Im not a fan of RSI and everyone is free to buy a controller that supports auto-fire, it is their choice.

They only way i would support a rule change would be to "Auto-fire is allowed unless stated otherwise".

A neat game was chosen... If you don't manage to get highscore entry, it is impossible to see your result...

Well it was a good suggestion while it lasted.. all 2 seconds of it
Np mihcael, I guess it only affects a small percentage of games anyway

I can't play this game without auto-fire, so I'm all for keeping it in. My thumb is too old to not use it.

Has anyone got a pre-installed WHDload version of 2.1? That one has the second joystick button for the smart bomb. The WHDownload version seems to have the 2.1 readme but only the 2.0 install.

Edit: Sorted it.

If you want the second button for smart bomb first make sure you have the WHDload 17.2 install. You can simply write over the executable in your C directory with the new version.

Then grab Hybris V2.3 pre-installed from the EAB FTP here:
ftp://ftp:amiga@grandis.nu/Commodore..._v2.3_1457.lha

Button C on a Megadrive pad now works Using the MD pad I lost autofire, but the buttons are a lot more forgiving than my Zipstik

As for autofire: Newer UAEs have builtin support, and those with an old UAE can buy a Competition Pro USB, and those with an Amiga a Competition Pro or other autofire joystick for 20 € on Ebay, so everyone can have it. It doesnt require a special knowledge, and i dont want to ruin my fingers by stupid 3 hours hammering on the fire button. (I have a trusty Quickshot II Turbo, but beware, this stick requires that you solder an 500 Ohm resistor into the +5V wire, else you may get shortcuts while switching the autofire-activation, and may destroy your Amiga's port; If you are not sure how to do this, take a joystick which does not support/not have the setting "CPC464", but has only a dual switch autofire on/off).

Hints:
While you have the grade 4 expansion active (Enter to activate), you are unvulnerable. So your goal is to have it most of the time. To achieve this, upgrade to expansion 5, activate it one or (later) 2 times, then let hit your hull (not your ship) by a bullet or enemy while the expansion is inactive so you drop back to expansion 4 and activate this. After a while, the next 5-grade expansion drops by, and you can repeat this for a very long time. But beware, at the active level 5 upgrade only your side shields block, you may still be hit from top or bottom (thats the way I died on the play with the score above - the bullets get faster and faster with every cycle, and at the 4th cycle one got me).

Thanks for the tips Harry. Although the amount of time I manage to get to weapon level 4 is a bit rare so far.

@aca0808

Welcome, good to see new players.

I just stumbled on this page.

@john1979 - aca0808 plays for lemon

I'm still deflated that the sites arnt back up so I'll wait for a bit longer. Hybris is yet another unknown classic. But moving the controller in a circle does something - what does it do? Is this the same as 'activating' something?

As far as auto goes. I've been outspoken on this as regards Snow Bros, but on a shooter its almost a given that it helps performance and users know about it. Yes anyone can use autofire and different controllers. I'm going to try my old Logic3 USB pad on this, which has auto.

When he first appears, destroy the ports on his sides and then shoot at his centre. He will make an escape at that point.

Later on in level 1 he will appear again, this time do the same and he will be destroyed.

Ah, that would make some sense. I was using the circle rotation with fire and it set off the smart bomb. Then again, I press two buttons together on my controller last night and the game quit back to the titles. Still cant work out how that happened. I'm using the auto built into uae and not the ones on my joystick or pad.
