Best WHDLoad demos
Hi !
Just wanted to ask which of the demos that were WHDLoad-ized are the best to check out ? Also is there a good demos site with AGA demos that run perfectly on stuff like 030 50Mhz ? I know the newest demos are kinda pc-ish and therefore lame... but some of the old AGA stuff is great ! |

Hmmm... best WHDload demos? there are many which are good and there are many which I haven't seen yet either.
9 Fingers (Spacballs) is one of my favourites though, along with Bubrain Megademo, Nexus 7 and some I can't remember the name of. Non WHDload demos which are my favourites and run perfect on my A1200 40 mhz machine are: The Prey (works on A500 too) Moments Psychedlic Freezer The Black Lotus demos (they rock!!), especially 'Tint' and 'Captured Dreams' |

Open the install page that shows all demo installs and then click 'DC' which sorts the installs by number of downloads. The ones who are downloaded many times should be liked by many people.

I'll add Planet M by Lemon, too. That's a nice WHDLoad demo.
Hardwired is OK (I like the intro the most) Non WHDLoad AGA demos running on accelerated hardware: Aphrodisiae / haujobb Klone / Dual Crew Shining 2CB / Dual Crew Shining The Prey / Polka Brothers Captured Dreams / The Black Lotus Extralife/Abyss Almost everything by Haujobb, Darkage, TBL and Dual Crew Shining uses to be tops. I LOVE the demos with tunes done by Muffler (my fave demoscene muso). |

ELYISUM
@Akira : Most of Sanity demos contains some really good code, gfx and music so i think they deserve their fame. Their best demo is imho ELYSIUM ! Check it, you'd be surprised to see some effects used in their future demos.

ME WANTS! muffler is so sweet!!! @Frog: One of the things I specially dont like about Sanity is the music! :P The code might have been nice but I don't know about that, I always looked more onto the design of things, and not about how many big balls have been pushed onto the screen... (that's why I like Melon) Design-wise Sanity was great because of Cougar. but that's all I like about it. To each one its own, right? GIMME SOME MUFFLAH! |

Sweet !
Thanx guys !!! This will certainly make my weekend an interesting one... I saw some of the newest demos and they look just like the lame PC demos ... thats a real shame. The old ones had so much more imagination... |

Think about it the OTHER way. The PC demos look just like the Amiga ones!
Because that's the truth. The Amiga demos were here first All those brilliant Dual Crew Shining demos are just like today's productions by Blasphemy (aren't they the same as DCS, or a former part of DCS?), but the DCS stuff was created many years before! Clone looks just like any production of today by Blasphemy |

hehe maybe some of you would call the new amiga demos lame, or whatever .. but I dont think so, they got some very skilled programming and top notch sound/gfx ... if you got the hardware check them out .. (or check divx at www.amidemos.org)
esp the MadWizards sttuff... very good. |

I am not saying they are technically bad - but all of them use 3d stuff - different ways of doing shading, bump mapping, textures, etc. -> no real ideas if you ask me... I rather look at nice raster effects, copper plasmas and stuff like that... I kinda have enough of 3d stuff
