Floppy disk Upgrade WHDLoad 17.0 to version 18

Dear all,

I have an Amiga 1200 with WHD Load 17.0 non registered version installed on it.

I would like to install version 18.

I wrote to Bern Jahn from http://whdload.de. He's answer was:

"You basically need only to replace the whdload binary. nothing more.
If you need any assistance you may check http://eab.abime.net"

So I'm asking your help as I have no idea of how to replace the whdload binary !

Where can I download the binary ? (what is the extension), and what is the procedure to put it on Amiga ?

Regards,

StZippo

You need to download the Whdload usr small archive from this link and extract it http://whdload.de/

Then inside the archive in the C folder just take the 2 Whdload and Whdloadcd32 files and copy into your C folder on the Amiga.

The easiest way to get it onto the Amiga is via the PCMCIA port as you can just download it to PC and the put the CF card into the Amiga and transfer nice and easy.

Ok thanks ! So I download file: WHDLoad_usr_small.lha

But then, do I have to unzip this file to my computer to find Whdload and Whdloadcd32 files ?
Or will I find them in the Amiga C: ?

I have to buy a PCMIA first I guess

If I do what you say, I will keep all my AMIGA Scalos/Scout/Workbench and games without deleting everything ?

Yes unzip on your computer first. The files you extracted should have a C folder with the 2 files in. These will need to be tranferred to the C folder on the Amiga in order to overwrite the older version. The PCMCIA method is the easiest way of transfer as the CF card can be read in windows and on the Amiga.

And you shouldn't loose any settings or anything, it wll just update WHDload to 18.5.

Dear all, I tried to read my 1Go ScanDisk CFCard (formated FAT32 on my MAC) throught the Amiga PCMIA port. But the card doesn't appear on WB.

It appears on Tools/PrepCard, but when I try to Prepare the Disk, I have the following error message: "Unbale to prepare card: Error while writing changes". see attached file

How can I use my CF Card on the Amiga to be able to transfer the new WHDLoad files to the c: ?

thanks
