.hdf files
Is there any way to run .hdf files without actually having an Amiga partition on my PC, ie can I use the .hdf files in a similar way to using .adf files... any assistance would be appreciated...

.hdf files simulate an Amiga hard disk in a file, so you don't need any other hard disk/partition to use them.
However, once you create them in the 'Hard Drives' section of the WinUAE interface, you need to format them. This means that you need to be be running Workbench or the CLI in order to run the Format command. The general sequence is that you would create a .hdf file on your PC hard disk and set it up in WinUAE and then load Workbench from an ADF or hard disk and format the drive. Then you can use it as a normal Amiga hard disk. |

If you want a realtime chat about setting up WinUAE, pop into the abime.net IRC server, channel #abime.net - I'll probably be around.
