GVP A1230 ram

So I bought a GVP A1230 Turbo+, I know the simms are not the standard type, I have been trying to find some extra ram on eBay but seem to be running into a wall, can I use another brand of ram or was it exclusively made by GVP the ram?

You must use GVP compatible RAM. Other 64pin SIMMs (Apple or laser printer) will probably be fatal to the cpu card. Amibay has reproduction GVP SIMMs occasionally.

I see, thanks for the heads up, I tried to re-register on Amibay but it seems once you close your account they don`t want you back lol.

It's quite unfortunate. :-( Sometimes you can find GVP SIMMs on eBay too.

According to this post Amibay registrations are currently offline:

However, normally your account would not be closed on Amibay. If your account was inactive you can simply login and resume normal activity. But if your account was banned then you can no longer use the Amibay forum.

Another option is the GVP SIMM DIY project option, but it's only for the 4MB size:

Thank you for the info, unfortunately I am natural disaster when it comes to soldering, so I think I will just have to wait until I find a 16mb Simm on sale somewhere. I was not banned but just decided to close my account a while back, but that explains why I am unable to re-register.
