Cleanable i reckon, give it a really good scrub and stuff and see how it goes. Like the ram upgrade

It's not really clear on these pictures but close to the battery the board is showing blisters.
Damage going from underneath the floppy down to fat agnus.
CIA B was saved thanks to a floppy selector mod.

Don't rub anything on this board. Sack the socketed chips out to salvage them, the case, keyboard and floppy unit too.

Too late for this board, the evil battery already destroyed it.

I dont have much (actually no) hope for that motherboard =(

you could spend the next day or so cleaning it but.... I believe its going to be a lost cause.


I did notice an interesting thing though...

whats that plugged into the "EVEN CIA (B)" ? its looks like its got a fly out lead - wheres it go ?

It's some sort of floppy selector. It is used to swap Df0: with any one of the 3 external drives

3 wires go to 2 switches mounted on the back of the case
1 wire is soldered to the external floppy connector
