Floppy disk AGA Games that 'sort of' work on ECS/OCS

I was looking at another thread where some games that are AGA actually are just 2MB Chip and work on ECS like Jungle Strike and thought that was interesting.

As I own a CDTV with 2MB Chip/8MB Fast/Kick 3.1/Super Denise/68010 I thought I would try a few AGA games (I have a 1200 too)

My results from just a couple were interesting:

Zool AGA - Gets to the loading screen (Prepare Yourself)
Trolls AGA - loads into game and is playable (Albeit a garish looking pallet)
Nigel Mansell - Gets to loading screen

It would be useful to see if anyone else has tried doing this and what kinds results have been achieved (Also if anyone has say similar spec to me but maybe an A3000 with graphics card)

Remember to include your OCS/ECS machine specs and processor

Master Axe needs 2mb chip and a 68020 because of odd word reads. but it can be patched for 68000 (whdload slave does that). and maybe 1mb chip....

apart from that most AGA games have a ecs version, better play the ecs version

I wonder if any more games can be patched in this way (Obviously most use 256 colour mode and other things though that OCS/ECS will never be able to do)

Nemac IV and Gloom, but I think they still require 020 minimum, but doesn't require Aga Chipset.

2MB+ECS+need 68020 probably can be patched for 68000. But the speed can be an issue then.

What if I overclock my 68000 to 42Mhz, with Aca500+?
I didn't had idea it was possible to patch.

Well... if you have nothing of more importance to do, I'd like to try Nemac IV or Gloom, on my A500, somewhere in the future.

I think OP means rather "almost works on OCS/ECS"...

run68017 isn't magical. For instance it's very hard to emulate odd long/word address read.

I guess the best thing might be disassembling with something like ADis?

i tried the same configuration via WinUAE of ScottC2010 but with 68000 cpu, 2 MB chip, 8 MB Fast Zorro2 and OCS chipset and kick 3.1)
this is result:

of course normally an AGA games don't run because search AGA chipset. Trolls is not 100% AGA maybe.

Trolls seems to basically have just an extra 16 colour background playfield on AGA. Obviously that doesn't work on OCS but why not simply play the OCS version?

even disassembling isn't going to help when reading longwords on odd addresses. Only running the game on a 68000 can find such errors.

Purely out of curiosity - that's all, though like desert strike there may be some more aga games that will work on an expanded machine which is always nice for extra sound effects and maybe extra background graphics, but mainly just for fun!
