Quick Lithiumectomy.

Got an old 500+ i'm about to trade, before i swap however (all pre-arranged) i stumbled accross the thread about whipping out those 500 batts before they corrode and really cause some damage.
so i decided to crack open the 500 and see what was what.
It'd already been opened before (i got it from a friend years ago) so the seals were broken but i don't think anyone ever took the cage off it, so i unscrewed the cage, folded open the tabs and found...

well a battery, that didn't actually look to bad.
there was a spot of corrosion on it but generally it was in decent condition.
without further ado i took it out, managed to take it out with some side cutters without damaging the board too.

so overall pretty pleased, there was a touch of leakage i saw after i removed it, which if you look on the pics you can see its taken the laquer off one of the strips. other then that though its all good.

the offending article.

overall success i think, at least we won't have to worry about it doing any more damage.
i'm sans soldering iron atm hence the use of sidecutters and a bit of patience. but when i get it back i can neaten it up (post swap included)

anyhoo its my first work on an amiga so far, so i thought i'd document it a little
Pete
