A little extra that I did was add these two switches to the side of the box.
They allow me to switch buttons 2 and 3 to give an 'UP' signal to the Amiga
as I have explained in my first post above.
It's a bit ugly right now with the extra hole.
My plan was to put lights in the buttons and have a switch
for them but I'm not sure if I'm going to do that anymore.

And here is the finished product next to my new A1200!

It works really well and is very nice to play with.

If anyone has any questions about the build, feel free to ask and I will try to help.

It is beautiful build
What I would do, and done is to tilt the top board a little, just like in the arcades. I would also make a little more space for the left hand. That edge there will be little annoying. It is nice to have space to rest your hand like you have done on the right side.
Everything else is great. Perfect placement for the buttons!

I thought about that but it would have made the box more difficult to build and I'm not that good of a carpenter .
It being flat is not so bad for me as I usually have it on my lap when I'm playing and it is the perfect angle then.

Your joystick looks very nice. It seems we had a lot of the same ideas.
I am a bit curious what yours looks like on the inside and how you hooked the trackball up.

Hi MBG. We for sure share a lot of ideas The trackball got its own connection. It came with PS2 interface so I have this PS2 to Amiga adapter. That way it is not so much different from your connections apart from the switch that share the same button for the 2 controllers. Even on the lap it is nice with the tilt. I know it complicates the construction
