Dave Haynie A3000+
This has to be the most interesting reading in an eBay listing I've ever seen. Amiga history from the inside.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Amiga-3000-B...item1e9bd5fbd0 Dave Haynie has been selling a lot of his Amiga odds and ends on eBay lately including some development protoypes. |

Yeah, that was an interesting read! Been watching his items finished.
Wonder if the A3000+ will beat the Gemini prototype, 43 bids and £2078. Ouch. |

Heard most of it in his AmiWest talk:
[ Show youtube player ] It's kind of depressing to be reminded of how different things could have turned out if only.... Oh how we would have loved that DSP ![]() /eX |

One of the hardware developers for the AA3000 posted a photo of one (inside a 3000 case) on Facebook not so long ago.. I'll see if I can find it later.

So they changed management and the new bosses cancelled all their projects so that the old management wouldn't look good. Actually this was sabotage from the inside.
Am i the only one to see personal careers and targets above company's future here |

Yes i think too that Mehdi Ali led Commodore to a bankrupt.
Mehdi Ali cut vital research and development (R&D), while increased CEO’s compensation. In 1989, Ali received $1.38 million in salary. In 1990, he received $2 million (not including bonuses). By comparison, the CEO of IBM, John Akers, received $713,000 in the same year! Also he did numerous strategic errors and he is the one to stop the A500 production and release the A600 at it's place for a higher price than the A500 (!). Long story short, sales collapsed and Commodore went bankrupt. |

Actually after Irvine Gould send home Tramiel from his own company he hired a consulting company led by Mehdi Ali. That consulting company led by Ali consulted Gould to hire Mehdi Ali as CEO!
That was the beginning of the end for Commodore and Amiga. He stopped almost all R&D, so they just went for some easy cash milking the Amiga until PCs overtake completely and then go to celebrate in some exotic beach. |

Tramiel wasn't sent home, he left.
Irvine Gould hired a few CEO's before hiring Mehdi Ali. |

No he was sent home. Irvine Gould owned the company actually, not tramiel anymore. Tramiel had some financial problems so he was forced to sell a large part of Commodore so Irvine Gould was his boss.

No he was not.
I'm aware who owned the company and why. Irvine Gould was using the company jet for personal use. Tramiel objected and threatened too leave CBM. Gould said that's fine, so Tramiel left. |

What do you want some sort of debate? I don't really care for the matter anyway.
