Opinions on IKARUGA
I recently received a Gamecube for my Birthday and so I went out and bought Ikaruga for £20 after reading some positive net reviews.
I havent had chance to get into it yet because of work/college commitments (also the reason why I dont visit EAB as much as Id like to) How many people here have it? What are your opinions of this game? |

To put it simply: it r0x0rz
But if you have a Dreamcast you are much better trying its version, since it is th eoriginal one. The GC port is goody nonetheless. |

I dont have a dreamcast, but as theyre next to nothing to buy I am planning on getting one very soon, mainly for Shenmue.
Looking forward to getting some free time so I can get into Ikaruga now, this weekend hopefully. |

I got the GC Ikaruga Jap release, excellent, and very hard.
(better with a real arcade stick like www.x-arcade.com) |

I managed to have a good go at this last night in the challenge mode (arcade). I noted my score and just checked the ranking website.......I wont embarress myself by revealing how much practise I need.
Its a very unusual game. I like the way you have to adjust your vision to only seeing the colour of the bullets your trying to avoid. Have any EABers got their name up on the official ranking scoreboard? BTW Some of you may be interested in this 'homage' CLICK Last edited by Dastardly; 04 December 2003 at 16:56. |

It’s probably been mentioned by someone else, but I’ve also got the Jap version for the amazing Dreamcast! (yes, that’s right! I said amazing, what a console that was! Not a day goes by when I think about it!), anyway, it is a great game however REAL hard, but is also very rewarding as you progress, its really original and since its available on the Gamecube, that cant be a bad thing, can it?
But nothing beets the playability with the “’Official’ Dreamcast Arcade Stick!” on the good old Dreamcast! Last edited by BobRedthorp; 13 December 2003 at 03:54. |

Oh, and the chain system works by basically killing as many enemy using the opposite shield as possible (without missing), without getting killed or hit etc, basically, when you hit enemies with the light (white) laser make sure its with your dark (black) laser, and vice versa, as the opposite colour creates double the damage, I recon you understand what I mean…

Basically, you black, shoot white, you white, shoot black! Can’t be easier than that! Or can it………………………………………………….????
