WINUAE with a Sony VAIO VGN-UX37GN

Has anybody used WINUAE with a Sony VAIO VGN-UX37GN as I am thinking of buying one to use it as my game console if it is any good

I don't see how that particular laptop would be any better or worse than others for WinUAE. Expect the fans to go vroom vroom though.

Older laptops are not recommended for Amiga emulation because of small visible screen in lower resolutions but not this one.

I just bought a Sony VAIO VGN-UX380N Ultra portable PC with everything for $365AU it should be here end of next week

From what I read, it uses the GMA950 chipset.
Apparently its normally underclocked to save battery.

You can use GMABooster to set the core back to its default of 400MHz.

Only downside is the 950 doesnt support Hardware T&L. You would need to use an app like 3D Analyze (this emulates the T&L).

Is it not running UAE so well, if not, install GMABooster.
It will tell you if the GPU is being clocked at 100MHz, apparently the default is 400MHz, but they underclock it to save battery.
I have not seen this chipset before until I seen it on a net book. It was running at 100MHz and games sucked on it.
I then used GMA Booster and now games are improved greatly. Example is Cataclysm, now runs smooth as silk on full settings.

WinUAE runs much better to on it, so things need a little frameskip though.
