Exclamation Agony (EU)[0960] modified highscore detected

The high score screen from the game "Agony (EU)[0960]" seemed to be modified as the entries differ with the US version.

"Agony (EU)[0960]" modified ?

Agony (US)

Knowing absolutely nothing about how it all works, just looks like the US version is shifted up with black space at the bottom. Differences in screen rate or something?

Look at the values and names on the high score tables. You can see the difference.

Most likely some playtester played the game, got a high-score and then that disk was used as the master. SPS do not release games that have not been duplicated with proper hardware, so at least that version must have been duplicated like that!

I think I remember seeing that before in a cracked version of the game too.

Maybe someone could check.

If no-one can say where it was downloaded from, how can people continue to investigate this and compare other files etc?

The disk is not modified; the EU master was probably played by someone before duplication just like Codetapper says.

I noticed that one of SPS BattleIsle disks (not sure which one, will have to check) had saved score in first mission.
