OK, I haven't messed with WinUAE much - I prefer to use my real Amigas.
So, as a total utter n00ba I was pretty happy with my config and it seems really stable, nice resolution with scanlines, etc. My problem comes when I try to configure the 'joystick'. I really hate the 3 default keyboard layouts (which seem to favour left-handed players for some reason) ![]() But I cannot for the life of me work out how to do it or indeed if this is possible. ![]() If some kind person could explain step by step how to do this I would be eternally grateful. I would like to use QAOPM for Up, Down, Left, Right, Fire. (yes I was a ZX Spectrum freak back in the 80s) ![]() |

Thanks, but that didn't work.
Here's what I have on the input configs: ![]() ![]() Maybe the option on the second screen (game & io ports) is overwriting what I set on the first screen? Although I tried changing this to other options and it still had no effect! Damn, I don't know - why do they make the simplest things so fxxxing complicated to do? Every other emulator in the world lets you redefine your keys in a simple manner!!! Anyone got any ideas where I am going wrong? |

The Amiga is weird in the fact that Joy1 is not usually the joystick port.
The joystick was usually port2 so use Joy2. |

It is more complicated system, so no wonder emulation is a bit complicated as well.
Mouse used mostly Port 1 and games Port 2, but not always (it depends on developer) so that's why we had those mouse/joystick switchers. ![]() |
