AsmOne installation
Hi wondering if someone could point out where I am going wrong with installing AsmOne into WinUAE?
I downloaded ASM-One v1.48 from this site : http://www.theflamearrows.info/documents/ftp.html I then placed the downloaded file into my SYS:C directory, which is DH0: an Active directory on my PC. I set this up by following the Amiga Workbench OS 3.1 youtube video : [ Show youtube player ] Everything works OK, but when I start the Amigashell & locate to SYS:C and type "asmone" the name I have called the downloaded file I get the message : "file is not executable" I have compared the "asmone" file content with other executable commands in the same directory ie "copy" & "edit" and I can see that there appears a difference Ie "copy" & "edit" have identical first few bytes that my "asmone" does not. Where have I gone wrong with my downloading of Asm-One???? thanks in advance |

The downloaded file?
The archive ending in .lha? That is a collection of files. You'll need to use the lha program to extract that. Something like: lha e file.lha BUT, don't place it in the C: and extract it there.. The archive is likely to have lots of files in it... (Not familiar with ASMOne specifically, but my guess...) You'll want to create a directory for it and extract it there. Not sure if that archive will have an installer in it or not. desiv |
