Amiga have many accelerators, that are attached on a side slot (think of ACA cards for A500 and A1200), with processors on these accelerators.

Would it be possible (in some parallel universe) that Amiga use dual processors (one native, and one from accelerator), or the motherboard is constructed in a way that is impossible?
(I've never heard of Motorola dual core systems, with the exceptions of Atari Jaguar that uses 2 68k processors).

Not impossible, have e.g. a look at the (non-functional) Gemini prototype:
https://bigbookofamigahardware.com/b...ct.aspx?id=224
But multi-cpu is not supported by the OS, and probably that setup was not terrible practical as a real multi-cpu system anyhow.

There were some workstations with dual 68020+ CPUs, e.g. from Sony:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony_NEWS
BTW, AFAIK the Jag has only one 68000.

68040 and Amiga 1200 wedge case:

Active cooling required or no? I've seen various answers. Does it depend on specific versions?

Mine (Apollo) had a small side blowing fan
which failed after a while

So I stuck on a larger heat sink

Later added a couple of fans (why not)

The L88M mask of the 040 might run without cooling at similar temperature levels as an 060.

In a wedge case with an earlier 040 mask than L88M, a heat sink without active airflow will probably not be enough.

Lets say, i make a CON: output in an IconX Tooltype.... like this for example..

Window=CON:100/120/300/50

What was the command to give that output window a Closing Button - so it would not "autoclose" ?

I did forget that

It's been a long time, but try adding '/WAIT' at the end.

Thank you TCD , but thats not it.

The Con output window would get a "Close Button" like any other WB "window".

Hmmm, can´t remember ... getting old .. and stupid

Must be something like CON:100/120/300/50/windowtitle/CLOSE/WAIT

Yes, that's it. On my 3.1 system (KingCON) the WAIT keyword is enough. I.e. no CLOSE needed. However, AmigaDOS book contains such information if someone want to check.

Dont use KingCon

Its none of the above .... hmmm, a demo used it (was it by abyss.. ? cant remember) to show a text in a Con: Window and had a second "tooltype" to give this Con: a standard Close Gadget.

Not that is super important or so; i just forgot that one... and i thought maybe somebody whould know.

Maybe i find the demo angain .. i thing it was abyss... (damn brain )

Still; thanks for all the effort guys

PS: It was /CLOSE like Meynaf said ... there was just a simple Wait 128 in the skript of that app i remembered,
that was the reasion the window stayed open ... stupid me. Sorry. You where right Meynaf !!!

There is no tooltype for that. The official way is to extend the path, and include CLOSE to get the gadget, and WAIT to keep the window open until the user closes it.

ViNCed in addition also supports the ConMan syntax of the above, although I have to admit I forgot the details.

Not really on Topic but somebody might know AND it´s of course Amiga related

You see Folks, i try to Play those Videos from the Alien Breed Tower Assault CD (THEY ARE HILARIOUS )
from HD/CF but get always so annoying colour flashes around the video, depending on the Scene.

I did try so much, but nothing helps.

My Command line looks like this: (filename of the video)
Cdgsxl Intro.2 Blit Multipal DosXL XLSpeed=150 Boxit NoPointer LMBabort

Drive me nuts

How to get rid of those annoying Colour flashes ?

AHA, without the blitter (blit) command, the annoying border colour flashing is gone BUT
the screen is now WAY off and cant be centerd anymore (on the X axis)
