I have often pondered why they made the sockets that way, obviously to support the full expansion cards that would occupy the space, which in itself is ridiculous as the lowest one would still not leave enough room.
As for a location or cost, sorry no, I would source all my stuff from second hand places here. Paul |

What I'm doing is just to buy old SCSI controller, for example like this:
