I have often pondered why they made the sockets that way, obviously to support the full expansion cards that would occupy the space, which in itself is ridiculous as the lowest one would still not leave enough room.

As for a location or cost, sorry no, I would source all my stuff from second hand places here.

We stock angled 72-pin SIMM sockets with metal clips:

Thanks for the reminder and the link. I need some of those for my A4000D.

I just need to check the condition of my existing sockets and I'll order this week!

What I'm doing is just to buy old SCSI controller, for example like this:

in Polish, sorry.

At the same time you have 90° SIMM socket and 3,3V regulator + lot of other parts :-)
