PrtSc on Mac Keyboard

Hopefully an easy one...... what key or keys do I use on a Mac keyboard in FS-UAE to invoke PrtSc to quit WHDLoad games.

Many thanks!

Depends. You would need a Keyboard with a Numeric Keypad on it, then I think it's the Asterix key. But you can choose to map it yourself to another key if you wish, by creating a WHDLoad.prefs file which includes a line such as QuitKey=$5D.

On a Mac Laptop style keyboard you're pretty limited, although you can always buy a USB Numeric Keypad as an add-on to solve this problem. Hope this helps.

To work with FS-UAE Launcher, the file 'whdload.prefs' must be placed in the main FS-UAE folder.

Also, if you want to configure your own Quitkey, then this link will help - http://whdload.de/docs/en/rawkey.html

Thanks, I did that but it still doesn't work. What folder in particular in the main FS-UAE Folder do I place the 'whdload.prefs' file. Appreciated.

The FS-UAE folder has a few subfolders like Cache, Configurations, Controllers, Data, etc. Do I put it in one of those subfolders (which one?)or just directly in 'FS-UAE.' I've changed the quit key parameter to $59 which equates to F10 I believe but when the emulator loads up with a game the start screen still says PrtSC to quit and still doesn't work. Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

1. You put the file straight in the FS-UAE folder.
2. I don't think that all WHDload games support your own QuitKey override.
3. I have tested my config with $59 for the F10 key and it works with Project X SE.
4. The latest dev version of FS-UAE Launcher has a configurable Quitkey for WHDload, so maybe try this if you only want to use F10.

OK cool. Where can I get the latest dev version of FS-UAE Launcher (link please) and how exactly in the new FS-UAE do I configure the quit key for F10 for WHDLoad games that I am using. Please, can you elaborate on the settings/options?

I assume once you are able to naturally quit out of the game it will save automatically. Is this correct?

Thanks again for your help.

Another question, a little bit off topic, sorry. What controller do you recommend that works well with the FS-UAE emulator and ALL WHDLoad amiga games?

How do I set up the buttons on the controller to correspond with the game controls within FS-UAE? Thanks again for your input.

Hey.

Link on the main FS-UAE page (2.9.8dev2). WHDload options are in usual Settings Menu. Yes, saving will be automatic when Quitkey is executed.
I personally use a USB to 9-Pin adapter with a 'real' joystick - search on eBay for them.

Got the new version of FS-UAE (dev2) and set the override for the quit key to F10 but the games are still not responding/quitting. I'm using an iMac with a magic keyboard could that be the problem, as in the keyboard?

Would your joystick work on an iMac?

How did you configure it to work with the game controls and quit key in FSA-UA?

Thanks, appreciated.

Sorry, I dont have that Keyboard, try mapping the ESC key to Quitkey to test with some games.
Yes, my joystick adapter is just a 2 button affair, so no reason why shouldn't work with any other modern Mac, and there's nothing to configure really.

OK cool, sorry for the delay in responding, been a bit tied up. Can you drop a link to where I can get the same joystick you use, does it plug in USB or you need an adapter? Thanks, Jason.
