I did, it convert a X68000 exe to an AmigaDOS exe.

Think it's like ST 2 Amiga - It will help port x68000 to Amiga but you need to be an expert in ASM.

I might be a blasphemous but would like to see AROS run on the x68000 as alternative system - as far as i remember the way that machine handle binaries is a bit peculiar though

that seems to be it, yeah. it just converts the executable format so it can be fed into a disassembler

... and then the fun begins. I don't know of a single X68000 game that was ported.

They shared multiple arcade conversions though...sadly, I don't think a bog standard Amiga 500 and 1200 would be able to run them at decent speeds AND with audio emulation

The graphic and audio performance should not be the part to port in my opinion, the game logic should, like in Final Fight in example

the X68000 is capable of 16bpl when an a1200 has trouble to do 8bpl....

Also the X68000 mix Bitmap chunky + planar.

I thought the X68000 was a chunky system rather than a planar one, has also tiled graphics (characters for us that come from spectrum/64)

I think this test would work on the Amiga 1200 as well.

Nothing.

But the executables most people would be interested in porting over are games, most of which made heavy use of the X68000's custom hardware. Disassembling the code would help for porting games, but there would still be lot of work to do. The OS and apps aren't that interesting either unless you're Japanese.

Many X68000 games already have an Amiga equivalent. So the question is, are there any games worth porting? Personally I would rather see people create new games than spend all their time and energy trying to port stuff from other platforms - unless it's something exceptional that the Amiga doesn't already have.

About 10% of X68000 games were also released on Amiga: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_X68000_games
https://amiga.abime.net/games/list/?machine=23

I'm quite sure in the remaining 90% there are games worth porting.

Dracula Hakushaku (an eroge, but also an adventure game).

This game would adapt perfectly on A1200 (and very possibly also on A500!).
