I’m all for giving people choices while still supporting the resellers:
- Buy from your favorite reseller; - Receive a license key on your e-mail; - Use it to register/download from Hyperion (or a place of their choosing). All this while still having the option of buying the physical copies/rom burning services/floppies/CF Cards for people that choose these. And everyone would receive the same software (extras). I would rather see something similar to this. Last edited by mariovieira; 07 June 2021 at 01:50. Reason: Complete my thought. |

I guess it's because Hyperion are going to be sued (again) about 3.2 and they didn't want to have the digital sales platform blocked (again), whereas it's more difficult to block the physical release from so many resellers.

Hi, for installing 3.2 from a pcmcia cf on an Amiga which already has 3.2 kickstart, can I:
1) Copy 3.2 iso content to cf using same cd volume name 2) write workbench 3.2 adf to floppy and add cfd, fat95 and cf0 mountlist 3) boot with cf and floppy inserted and install? Thanks |

I would instead customize the Install 3.2 floppy, not the workbench.
It might even work. You probably can't have that exact volume name on a fat formatted CF, but you can assign AmigaOS3.2CD: CF0: instead. You should go to the CF card, enter the directory called Install and double click on StartHere before you begin your installation. This should set everything up for the virtual floppies to work. |

I did something similar. I copied the ISO to my Amiga, mounted it and extracted the contents to a small emergency partition. Then I booted from this partition. |

Just rename the install flop and delete as much as needed, it can be mounted from the CF card later after you click StartHere.

I'm not an extremely patient person, so I have to own that, but this rollout sucks. The USA distributor didn't prep to have Kickstart ROMs available, and now they are sold out of the CD-ROMs after their initial shipment apparently ran out. I wanted to make a combined order to save shipping, and now it will be until who knows when before the order could even be fulfilled. I could live with the physical item delays if Hyperion had provided them the option to make an advance electronic release to get started with kickstart mapping/etc being a solution even without the physical ROMs as long as you had placed a physical CD-ROM order. As I said, not the most patient when it comes to these kinds of things.

prepped a 4mb pcmcia sram card as a disk made it bootable -> install cc0: copied the essential boot contents of the iso, sagasd.device, fat95, and sd0 mountlist to the bootable pcmcia sram card. flash (or map) the 3.2 rom to the vampire boot from sram card mount the vampire's sdcard that had the full contents of the iso assign AmigaOS3.2CD: sd0:AmigaOS3.2CD partitioned the internal cf card and ran the installer. went flawlessly |

Thanks to all the developers of OS 3.2! It is a wonderful product.
Does anybody uses the Micromys V5 in combination with 3.2? IControl doesn‘t seem to have an effect with the scrollwheel, regardless of activating it in the preferences. The 68000 Micromys driver enables the wheel but i have double button presses of the middle mouse button then regardless which option flag is set (NNM) in the driver itself in startup-sequence. As for icontrol prefs scrollwheel checkmark, I will have to apologize for the less than stallar labeltext. It doesn't really enable or disable the scrollwheel. Scrollwheel events are always delivered. What it does do is make sure it always sends it to the gadget hovered by the pointer, even if that gadget is in an inactive window. |

Ok, thanks for your elaboration. Maybe I’ll try MouSTer with OS 3.2 when it arrives on my desk.

Just what I did and worked fine. I have another question: I have pfs3aio as FS of my two (boot&data) partitions. For the boot partition I left the default file name size but for the data partition I maxed it out, now in the WB prefs which value should I put in? The default one or 105? Or when not using FFS that value is ignored? Thanks

The documentation doesn't really say, but I believe it is just what is visible under the icon. I would leave it at the default.. Workbench is not a very nice file manager anyway.

So I finally got my AmigaOS 3.2 delivery from Amigastore.eu today... but all I got was the CD - they didn't send me the physical Kickstart ROMS I'd ordered.
Hope it doesn't take another month to get them sorted. |

Wow, that's really annoying. I hope they will send you the Kickstart roms for free. I'm glad I got mine from Sordan, got the CD and two sets of A1200 roms plus one A600 rom really fast. |
