Hmmm can't remember the first game I actually played. My brother got it for Christmas and it was the movie magic A500 pack so it could have been Shadow of the Beast II, Nightbreed, Days of Thunder, Back to the Future PT2. Some of the first copied games then he got were like Torvak the Warrior, Speed Ball, Interphase, Super Cars.........so many!

Until I learnt how to install the other games (Epic, Trivial Pursuit, Rome AD92) that came bundled with it. |

Sometime in early 1988, a friend of the family upgraded their C64 to an A500. As he no longer required the C64 hardware, it was up for grabs - and I had first refusal at getting the 1541, discs and a MPS801 printer. Anyway, I called round to check out the 1541 etc - and of course the new A500.
I recall being blown away at how good PacMania looked - no borders / full screen scrolling! Also got to check out Battle Chess, Amegas, Aaargh! , Starray, Goldrunner and a few others that escape me now. A few years later I upgraded to a A500 myself, and the same family friend turned up at the house one day with a nice box of discs to get me started. Good times. |

I cant remember, it was an offroad game that my auntie had. I was amazed. A few years later, my dad saved weekly for a family Amiga and I spent most of my time playing Batman.
The game I remember playing and thinking, well, that's me cemented as an Amiga fan forever, was probably Super Frog, or Simon the Sorcerer (which was made in my hometown). |

Mind Walker.
My parents were cleaning up their house/garage a few months ago and asked if I wanted our original 500, plus another 500 & 2 1200's. I gladly jumped at the opportunity. First game I fired up on it again after more than 20 years was Mind Walker |

Battle Chess was the first Amiga game I ever saw. Then there was some Summer Games type game. Can't remember the title but it had a loop of Laura Brannigan's "Self Control" playing over the menu, or possibly the intro. This absolute blew my mind and I went into debt a few days later to get an A500 and television.

And by that I mean, weren't the product of the Amiga trying to be something it wasn't. 'Sinbad and the Throne of the Falcon' is another example. Bill Williams was an absolute legend. |

Return to Atlantis. I saw a preview of it in a magazine and knew I had to have it and the Amiga. A few years later when I was about to get my Amiga at last I bought the game in anticipation. It was an incredible experience for me to play it, one that was almost immediately surpassed by better Amiga games. Looking back, it's difficult to remember those screenshots blowing my tiny mind.

I had a commodore 64 when I first saw an amiga game in action. I was swapping games at a friends house and his older brother just bought an amiga and was playing Speedball. I was totally blown away by the gfx and sound. 3 months later I had one for christmas 1989 the batman pack.
I recently got back in to my c64 with pi1541 and tapecart sd still very fond of the machine. |
