PS3 with Workbench.
A small linux install runing an Amiga emulator on PS3.
Something like X-amiga for PS3 PPC architecture. All on one easy to install CD/DVD. Seeing as i'm making a wish, I'll have it by X-mas thanks. HO !! HO !! HO !! |

If you are requesting an ISO you can just download, burn and use without the need for you to do anything else then i think the copyright on the kickstart roms might get in the way of your wish.
Perhaps someone can make it so that it looks for the roms on a USB stick. There is also a problem with copyright on workbench, amiga dos and other files and programs. Don't get me wrong, i think it'd be great to see UAE on a ps3, but i'm doubtfull you'll find this on these forums. Perhaps you could ask cloanto if they feel up to the task of compiling a distribution if their licence allows this. |

@lernatix
IF (and its a big one) have or can get you mits on a development platform, toy can download X-Amiga source and then compile this directly for the PS3, then all you would need to do is install on the PS3 and then follw the on-screen instructions on setting up the UAE part for things like OS/Kickrom etc. I have made it sound a little easy, you would need to know a little bit about the development suit you are working on to get it to compile for the CELL CPU of the PS3, BUT if you look hard enough I am sure there is a linux distro out there that will sit quite happily on the PS3. from that you can just use e-uae etc to setup the amiga emulation. or setup a development environment (to essentially compile X-Amiga for it.) again this will need a smidge of Linux / Programming Knowledge... |

No, you need PS3 development experience.

As far as I am concerned this is the ONLY reason to buy a PS3!

I love it, here's a list.
High Definition capability. (for my next TV!) Wireless, rechargable controllers. Wireless internet connectivity (+media server running from PC via WiFi) Internet browsing in my lounge room on my TV. USB and BlueTooth keyboard/mouse support. FREE online gaming and downloads. BlueTooth "Hands Free Kit" support. (For on-line taunting) USB input for printers, camera's, .MP3 players, memory sticks etc... Several Memory Card slots. (my PDA + Mobile Phone ones plug straight in) Damn good games available, Resistance and Assassins Creed for example. Gran Turismo 5 (featuring the 'Top Gear' test track!) *Comming (not) Soon (enough) And of course the option to load "other OS". (Linux mostly, PowerPC based of course) It is basically the home "Multi-tasker" I always wanted the Amiga to be. ____________________________________________________________ There ARE two things I don't like. 1. It's heavy. (sometimes I take it upstairs) 2. Anything close to the right hand side of it will slowly COOK! (Horsepower = Heat, and there's a lot of Horsepower) Methanoid, I'm guessing your either too old for PS3. If so, get a young, rich girlfriend!!! OR You have an XBOX/wii, which is entirely your choice. |

I'd agree with everything except for:
"Damn good games available, Resistance and Assassins Creed for example." ... There's hardly anything out! ... damnit! ... Where are the games!?? - although I rather like Ridge Racer 7 X) |

Try Ratchet and Clank and Uncharted for some really nextgen, 2nd generation games. Or the new SingStar for party gaming

For Linux & PS3, you might want to see this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ps3_linux It might be possible to install emulators (Linux versions) on a PS3, after all. |

I love my PS3 too. Lot's of cool games available now like HeavenlySword, RidgeRacer7, Folklore, TimeCrisis4, Uncharted, COD4 etc. Even Lair from Factor5 is pretty awesome despite poor reviews (they made several cool Amiga games too). I am also a fan of the Wii, SuperMarioGalaxy is a must-have.

tbh I'm pretty critical of the PS3 release list as is... Being a bit of an avid gamer, I can recognise a good game when I see one - that said, nothing really touches stuff like Supercars2 , moonstone, nuclear war (been playing that one a lot recently), final fantasy, dune 2, doom, mainly the oldies but goodies- they still are VERY playable even if they dont have the best graphics :>
I heard about Super Stardust out on the ps3 but where the hell can I find it!?!? |

Super Stardust is available on the Playstation online store accessible from the PS3's XMB.
