Sim City 2000

I'd love to see a WHDLOAD install for Maxis' Sim City 2000 AGA.

Has anyone noticed by the way when using unrar 3.2 on the miggy to extract the archives, the files extracted don't have the "executeable" bit set on the info tab & therefore fail to run.
unrar 3.1 behaves the same too.

In the end I took a gamble & used WinRAR into a WinUAE directory.

So you've been using unrar on your real A1200 with no issues. which version?

& why does unrar cause this attribute problem under WinUAE

Time to burn the rar files to CD & unrar them on my A1200 i think.

Just to confirm the syntax I've been using is

unrar x whatever.rar

Cheers

Game is already too slow on plain A1200 with fast RAM. Besides it runs inside Mac emulator so probably making WHD install doesn't make sense.

Any prospect of a WHDLoad version of Sim City 2000 that combines the patch and minor performance/bug fixes?

I know it can be HD Installed but with the recent arrival of the A500 Mini using WHDLoad as a convenience format along with similar Amiberry implementations it would be pretty nice to see.

WHDload simulate floppy speed, so when you launch the game you have to wait like if you load from floppy.
From HDD installation it is much more fast to loading the game.

So while you waiting loading from WHD, from HDD you are building the city.

crash loading the slave. Some time it is enough to restart. In other case the installation is gone bad.
