Can't see HDD after pressing ctrl + a + a

Hi,
I've recently been messing around with my 1200. Been playing a few games earlier. When I turned the amiga on it would boot straight to WB and then I could access my games.

I tried to load the b folder and it just hung, didn't load after 5 mins or so, so I done ctrl + a + a. The amiga restarted to the floppy disk screen

Checked early startup and there is just DF0 and CCO, HDD is not there, has this happened from ctrl + a + a or is there another reason that HDD isn't loading now?

I have opened it up and CF card is connected and it shows a red light for power

Any advice would be appreciated

CF cards sometimes just die.

Check with HDToolbox if it is still found. If it is, then it might be a software issue. Maybe the card is larger than 4GB and you didn't have the drivers for >4GB support installed?

If HDToolbox does not see it, it's probably dead. Anyway you could check cables and connections. Maybe something became loose.

I think your probably right about it dying. Although the light is still on

Can't be anything to do with 4gb support as it was working fine, checked the connections yesterday and they were fine. I guess it could also be the CF adapter as well, so may try it in the PC

I sometimes see IDE Lock ups on my 1d4 mobo....

Pressing CTRL-AMIGA-AMIGA a few times if need be.... usually clears it.

If you don't see your Screen go a distinct black when using CTRL-A-A, chances are it's going to hang with the IDE Light locked on.
