Also for NES version I find it very poor graphically.

I don't deny that, but if you play on highscore, which is the funniest thing about NES Tetris, you still end up turning off the music and at least the graphics don't distract...

Arcade Tetris is pretty unfair: the shapes fall very quickly after a while, and if you lose one credit, when you continue you'll notice that the speed has reduced. Typical Arcade behaviour (which I could witness in Mortal Kombat for example).

[QUOTE=jotd;1660454]I do not understand this sound mixer choice? can you explain?

If you run the game on a 020 Amiga, you can listen the music the way you got it not, but if you run the game on an accelerated Amiga (from 030 and beyond) you can get the option to use a sound mixing routine to get all the sound on one channel (and you can play it on two channels).

And another option is to get someone like Estrayk or DJ Metune to make the modules songs (I can help to sample all the chords, it can take like 500bytes for each chord sample) and we can get the entire music+sfx at once.

No Fast? It complains about not enough memory available with no fast in a1200 quickstart?

Quickstart a1200 with 4MB Fast results

Sound pops are fixed, sound is 100%

Shape changing glitches are still psesent

[ Show youtube player ]

Ive also noticed at the end where it says press start to continue, something flashes very quickly throughout the countdown, and is unreadable? I dont see this behaviour in the arcade longplay?

Just tested from floppy it works fine with basic config. You have to use floppy if you have A1200/nofast. Or run from HD but remove diskbuffers as it eats a lot of memory.

great news!

it means that the game doesn't have time to draw during VBLANK. Double buffering could solve the issue but would need more work and more CPU load. On my 060 there are no issues.

Main problem is that game is 256 color AGA so 8 bitplanes!

Let me put it this way: if someone wants to create a 3-channel set of tunes, I'll use them in the game with an option. It's not going to cost more CPU anyway. I was glad not to annoy no9 to remake the exact same tunes as the ones that could finally be emulated.

Incredible !

Plays like butter now on pistorm Love the game too... Twintris and Tetris Pro were my previous favorite amiga versions, I think this one is my new one. Got to round 10... everything really smooth, no gfx glitches, music and sfx both perfect as far as I can see.

How much different is this to Tetren? I guess Tetren was based off the arcade version, it was always my favourite on the Amiga. The dancing guy in the middle, the pigs ear level with a mess of blocks, the graphics, all very close...

And is it released as an ADF and complete or are you still working on it?

Is the ADF version on itch still beta or is it now 'final'?

I didn't know Tetren. It's a good ECS counterpart of the arcade, the shapes have the same color, and the layout is similar. The music is not as good and the shapes have less colors. As you may have noticed it's not 1:1

The ADF is complete, but someone mentioned tearing so I may implement (optional) double buffering for the display. Also drums are missing from the tunes, but it's not trivial, and I don't want to spend too much time on that.

I noticed that when the little russian pops out, the game performance takes a bit of a hit. Like when you end the level, the music ends much earlier than the guy ends his dance.

Other than that, this is an amazing emulation, I can't believe you pulled this off!!

How is the drawing done? Doesn't it just redraw the 8x8 tiles that changed (tile id and/or tile palette) each frame? The glitches in the video look strange. In Youtube you can use comma and period keys to move forward and back one frame at a time. There are cases where three half-redrawn tiles are visible at the same time? How can that happen?

Isn't that an encoding problem? The game draws one 8x8 tile at a time. Not a block of tiles.

But if the video is drawing the line while the row of tiles is being refreshed I suppose that it can catch more than 1 tile being drawn, in different lines.

Software failure guru if you complete the level in 2p mode on 1200 config with fsuae.

We are playing it online on amigalive rn, https://www.twitch.tv/amigalive
