Clone/Copy IDE Harddrive

Hi Everyone,


I just got an Amiga A1200 and it came with a 40GB IDE Harddrive that has workbench 3.0 preloaded and the screen is formatted correctly for my Acer 27" VGA monitor. Previously I tried Classic WB and other software but could never get them to display on my Acer screen correctly. I would like to copy everything from this 40GB IDE hdd to a newly formatted CF card so I can use it in plac of the old IDE HDD but unsure how to clone the 40GB IDE Hdd to mt 32GB CF. Can someone tell me how I can accomplish this?

get one of these or something similar (2.5" IDE to USB enclosure)

Use WinUAE to mount the hard drive and the CF card then just copy the contents of the HD to the CF card.

I noticed in the past when create a new image and when I bootup my image with WINUAE and put the same image back on my real Amiga, the video settings are messed up. It turns my color to like 8 colors and screen resolution is weird and I can't set it back. I should be able to bootup with another image with DOpus and copy the 40GB hdd to a folder in WINUAE?
