Dead 500 power supply

Hello all,
My lovely Amiga 1200 with an internal 2.5" hard drive plus an external zip 100 disk drive, plus a 3.5" external hard drive plus an external floppy drive has a BIG problem. My 500 PSU seems to be dead. When I switch it on nothing powers up and if I put the PSU to my good ear (dont ask about the other one) all I can hear is a high pitched whine.I do have an original 1200 PSU but power wise it sucks as I have these extra pieces of hardware on board.
Do you know if it is possible to buy a 500 PSU on its own or do I have to buy a whole machine just to get the power brick.
My Miggy is not in a tower as that would defeat the object of having an original computer in the same format as the day it was built.WinUAE is brilliant but it aint a real Miggy.Any help would be appreciated as given the choice of running a PC or a Miggy I will always go with the latter. Many thanks in advance
Dave

Open up the supply, stip everything out and build an old AT power supply into it with the cooling fan glued to the top vent.

Thats what I did anyhoo, albeit with a 1200 supply
