Thank you!

Two suggestions:

1.Include in the archive a picture of each romboot version showing the screen they generate, rather than only a text description of it.
2.Include some sort of rudimentary skeleton/guideline so that other programers can create their own boot screens much easily.

It is indeed a great set of patches. Well done

Just to help out potential people to know what it looks like per versions I made the following screenshots:

romboot 40.1 (checkmark - original romboot of kickstart 3.1)

romboot 40.2 (checkmark with version fix. For example 40.063 --> 40.63)

romboot 40.3 (checkmarks with version fix but blue instead of purple background)

romboot 44.0 (2D boingball, A.inc preview)

romboot 44.1 (2D boingball with spitecolor fix)

romboot 44.2 (3D boingball with SD card instead of Floppy disk for Minimig usage)

romboot 44.3 (3D boingball with Floppy disk)

Also I added these screenshots to .iff format inside Ratte's archive.
Ratte if you like you can use these images to re-upload to Aminet for means of completeness.

the gfx are "coded" there is nothing, that can be easily replaced

for example:
Code:
dc.b -3,-1 ; drive
dc.w DRIVEX,DRIVEY
dc.b -2,1 ; drive tan
dc.b 0,0
dc.b 155,0
dc.b 155,18
dc.b 0,18
dc.b 0,0
dc.b -3,0
dc.b 7,2
dc.b 148,2
dc.b 148,7
dc.b 7,7
dc.b 7,2
dc.b -4,0
dc.b 1,1
dc.b -2,2 ; drive tan shadow
dc.b 118,14
dc.b 118,11
dc.b 142,11
dc.b 142,12
dc.b -2,3 ; drive light off
dc.b 25,14
dc.b 32,14
dc.b -4,1 ; drive slot
dc.b 8,3
some kind of "fantavision"-painting

@s2325
That would be just awesome man! +1
Something like tnt32's avatar

Also it would be neat if boingball could animate (spin) but I'm pretty sure that would be really intense coding.

Sorry but... What is this?

A Kick to burn into an EPROM?
Or just some kind of software patch?

I'm a bit lost.

Just a module to add to your custom kickstart.

Why not? I have to say this is awesome for us kickstart modders. Lots of thanks!

Strange problem though. Works fine in WinUAE and I can see the kickstart screen with no disks attached. Burn it to a real amiga 1200 though and the image stays black with no disk in. I've waited a long time and still nothing. I can see the normal phases with white flash, etc, but when the kickstart image should appear, its just empty. Floppy clicks as normal. Put a disk in and it boots as it should. Tried 5 different times now, using romboot 44.3

Put a harddisk in and it boots just fine though as well. Weird.

I'm under the impression I had the exact same issue some months back using a custom romboot (blue version) in my A600.
Gonna try in the real thing in the following days and will report back.

What kind of hardware allows you to boot from an SD card? I assume drivers and other stuff must reside in ROM for it to work.

A minimig boots from SD as far as I know. Unless theres an SD to IDE adapter it would be hard in a real amiga.

I made one rom file for each version and tested with ACATUNE maprom. They all worked fine in a real amiga. Seems the problem is only when burning to real eprom.

If you get an HxC SD Floppy emulator you can boot just fine from SD cards.
Btw Turran, how you tested the rom via ACATUNE and then saw the kickscreen that requires no Hard drive?
The only method I thought was putting acatune and the rom image to a floppy disk, and adding acatune to s-s
