The Amiga x86
Hello my friends!
I made that small guide for all Amiga users around the world. Enjoy! http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XSUD2RLE |

Cool guide - Ive done this before the only difference is I ran Windows apps with WinLaunch - Would this ruin the Amiga experience for you?
A setup like this is a good alternative to other Amiga OS. Anyway nice guide |

Could be a nice implementation for the one who need, for example, a modern browser!
Depends on the flavour if this can ruin the Amiga experience or not. For me, since I made that thing, tested intensively, and modded the case one or two weeks ago I never rolled back to Windows, maybe because I don't use facebook or youtube so AmigaOS 3.1 fits perfectly my needs But as I say... why not? |

Did anyone do THIS? Share your story. I wish I knew about this sooner. But disabling F12, won't that mean I can't switch to a different configuration? Does WinUAE crash if you try to access its GUI at that point? Can it still be done to Windows 7, 8, 10? Guess the next step would have been to hack the BIOS firmware for completeness. |

It makes more sense to use Windows XP I think, if only because then you can use some old core2duo for a few quid that has Serial, parallel ports etc.
I wouldn't disable F12 until I was absolutely sure everything was configured correctly 100% behaving like a real machine, like playing cd audio or midi connections etc. |

Not so bright choice, there are still open holes in Windows XP after Microsoft closed as much as they could. It's a targeted platform so don't give it internet access.
Linux also not since most distro's dumped the 16 bit, best to get is 32bit but that is at least open source. But warning, running old kernels is also a no go zone. |

Yes, since 2012. Please try the alternative.
