Purple Overlay to screen

Had a problem a few weeks ago in relation to a Hard Drive which wasnt working. In the end the kind folk here identified it was a faulty pin and so with guidance I desoldered a redundant pin and used it to replace the broken one (which i believe was giving it the 5v power).

Anyway, the Hard Drive works now as does everything else as normal except there's a blessed purple overlay to the screen
It was suggested that this is caused by a faulty Rom and I was wondering if anyone could confirm.
Nothing wrong with the leads im using nor the TV.

If it is the Roms are they possible to replace?

Must admit that is one thing im not familar with. I will look at the leads again and try another Amiga with it but what or where is the Video Chips and how do I troubleshoot them?

I'll also see if it occurs when using a monitor as opposed to the yellow port.
