Help with Gotek

Hi! I bought a new gotek drive (model SFRM72-FU-DL). I was doing the procedure to flash it with the flashfloppy firmware using the USB cable.

It was all good, when I pressed UPGRADE on DfuSe Demo, my dog decided to pass runing and pulled the USB cable. I got a "80% error" something on screen, saying the upgrade wasn't finished... and now the Gotek isn't even turning on (Not even using an external power supply which is working with the other gotek). With the jumpers shorted it doesn't turn on the led (and it never does), but its not found by the DfuSe Demo application.

Can I say I just bricked/fryed this gotek, or does anyone have any idea of what I can do?

EDIT: when I turn it on with a Pen Drive connected to it, its led quickly flashes, so I guess power is going through it. I probably bricked this thing and there's nothing I can do?

EDIT 2: Never mind, just fixed it The thread can be safely deleted

the usb flash method requires that the firmware is working. if it gets screwed up simply flash it using a serial to usb adapter like shown in the docs of the flash floppy firmware.

The way to fix this is to short the RESET pins and plug the Gotek in, wait some seconds, unplug it and un-short them, then try flashing again. This is using the serial method.

This problem and the fix is described on the Cortex installation instructions.

Thanks Akira, I'll take a loot at that. I had issues last night trying to flash mine - STM32 couldn't communicate with the GoTek and wanted me to rest it. I was unsure of the reset procedure so thanks again.

Yeah I had one situation where I accidentally stopped a flashing mid-progress and the Gotek would not respond. Resetting it fixed it and I was able to flash.

As I said, all this with the serial method, not USB to USB. As fordav1 said, if your bootloader got fucked, the USB updating won't work.

Well despite the fact that I had no issues with TTL and HxC in the past, I simply could not get TTL to work this time around for Flashfloppy so I went USB to USB and SUCCESS! So there's that, thanks again.
