Two different serial numbers
My A500+ has two barcode stickers on it's lower side. One starts with 051 48 91 363642 and says "MAIN ASSEMBLY AMIGA 500+ GR/AU" and the other is 012 42 91 363642 and says "A500+ FG". What does this mean? Does it, that my machine's MB was manufactured in China on the 42th week of '91, but the machine was assembled in Germany (?) or Austria on the 48th week of '91?

AU is Australia and FG is French Guiana, if that helps.

Sure AU is not Austria and FG is Germany (Federal Republic of Germany)? Did not know they built Amigas in French Guyana.

Seeing
https://www.amigawiki.org/doku.php?i...s:country_code I guess GR/AU is Germany/Austria? FG is not on that list. Combo's in the service manual are: MAIN ASSY A500 PLUS GERMANY/AUSTRIA MAIN ASSY A500 PLUS FRANCE/BELGIUM MAIN ASSY A500 PLUS SWEDEN/FINLAND MAIN ASSY A500 PLUS SPAIN/S, AMERICA MAIN ASSY A500 PLUS DENMARK MAIN ASSY A50O PLUS SWITZERLAND MAIN ASSY A500 PLUS NORWAY MAIN ASSY A500 PLUS NETHERLANDS MAIN ASSY A500 PLUS U.K. MAIN ASSY A500 PLUS ITALY MAIN ASSY A500 PLUS PORTUGAL MAIN ASSY A500 PLUS BLANK KEYBOARD PAL |

FG could be the Federal Republic of Germany, but that is on the chinese label. Anyways, i am not really curious about the locations, but more like the date. I don't know which date labels what event and i would like to figure out the "birth date" of the machine; '91 42th week or 48th.
Here are some pictures to make it easier (click makes it bigger): |

The smaller FG label is a typical Commodore factory label, found on just about everything post-1990 (with different letter codes depending on target country). The GR/AU label is more unusual. My guesses:
1. Something added by the local Commodore sales office for their own tracking purposes. 2. The machine was sent back to Commodore at some point and resold as a refurb unit with a new tracking number. Perhaps as part of warranty service or a trade-in offer. |

Okay, but what are they marking? Which stands for the date of manufacturing? I'd say the 012 one, since that marks China and the label says it's made in China, but that's just my guess.
