Thanks. PicassoII/II+ passthrough switch should work correctly now.

An extension to previous post regarding chipram. I have reduced aga workbench to pal hires 4 colours for maximum chipmem availability and now the screenmode test screen appears on a few screen resolutions, and can now open 1600x1200 (although resulting in a grey screen). The testcard in CGXMode doesn't show in anymode either, just a black screen before returning back to workbench.

CGX4 installed and problems found.. CGX4 uses CPU to VRAM blit operations that wasn't fully hooked up to Cirrus Logic emulation.
Now it really does work, at least 640x480x8. There is graphics corruption too (background isn't always erased), something to do with blitter emulation. Picasso II/Picasso II+/Piccolo/Spectrum (both ZII and ZIII) now works in CGX4 mode. Piccolo isn't detected, probably something wrong in autoconfig data. JIT seems to cause crashes, do not enable it. EDIT: graphics corruption fixed. Yet another buggy "is blit valid" test.. EDIT2: Piccolo SD64 now works partially. Some modes only work. Last edited by Toni Wilen; 04 July 2013 at 20:11. |

Only remaining issue is Piccolo SD64 having corrupted graphics in some modes, possibly related to being the only one with 4M of VRAM. EDIT: Piccolo SD64 corruption fixed, it used unimplemented feature. Last edited by Toni Wilen; 05 July 2013 at 18:40. |

After the A2090(A)/A2091/590 SCSI/XT-HD-Board and the A2630 Turboboard that would be a nice addition a Commodore board and almost all hardware of the original A3000UX would be emulated. |

I noticed but it has not been happened yet.
Another interesting option is Voodoo 3. Supported by MAME, at least up to 16M VRAM support, RTG driver exists. AFAIK it is the only existing emulated chip that is RTG compatible and has more than 4M VRAM. A2410 is nice to have but also mostly useless |

Voodoo3 would also get you OS4 support, and the joy of masses complaining about how to get it to work (-:

Voodoo3 in WinUAE! I thought that is impossible.
That means all the fancy ppc 3d demo stuff and WipeOut2097 will work? Or will stuff like that run too slow because the card is emulated by the cpu? I know how some MAME games crawl even on modern hardware. |

@Toni Wilen
Have you thought about supporting both the Retina ZII and Retina ZIII? |

No, standard answer: That weird NCR display chip is not emulated anywhere. |

[QUOTE=Toni Wilen;1032581]Getting native RTG mode with higher resolutions (=has more than 4M VRAM) is all I care about. Nothing else matters for me.
This alone will be enough to make a lot of people, including me, very happy. The best I could get from the P IV was 1080p in 8bit.That left me with unusable 0 Mb gfx-ram. Nuts I know. But it can be done.... |

The Retina ZIII is supported on Linux, NetBSD and OpenBSD, and has both CGX and P96 drivers available (chip is NCR 77C32BLT). https://github.com/achernya/iap-6.82...vgadoc/NCR.TXT I hope you change your mind |

BTW: Remember I have a VlabMotion as a gift for you whenever/if you feel you want to tackle its emulation. And I can also offer for loan a DraCo if you wish to emulate it (I will just need to figure out how to send it cheaply). Last edited by gulliver; 25 July 2015 at 23:57. Reason: Update |
