Hi !

When i open my drawer full of game, my chipmem decrease and at a moment stop showing icons, and i can't start a game.

Is there a way to open drawer and not eating chipmem ?
Maybe a prog to place icon or other in fastmem ?

Just want to play with my whdload games .. and my "S" drawer is full of them

You could start them from the CLI prompt. Then you wouldn't need to open the drawer at all

it's a solution but i prefer opening them with their lovely newicon in my workbench

Easier to me to make 2-3 click (i'got wireless mouse connected) rather than typing some long text on cli .. especialy when i'm in bed the evening playing a max games

in the doc, the autor speak about WBCtrl IMT=ICONFAST .. but apparently working only on WB3.5 minimum ..

the command itself is working but not the "LoadWB SIMPLEGELS" just after ...

I've never really tried, but could you not just leave out the icon of the game you wish to play on your desktop and close the drawer?

Or if you have hundreds of different drawers, just open one and close all the other windows?

@Foul
If you can't find the source for your problem, you could try to launch games via iGame or KGLoad instead.

Yeah as Boo Boo says I can't imagine you ever playing all 350 of these. I think the best thing here is to firstly delete any multiple versions of games you have, and see how many you have left. And then maybe choose about 30 or so games you think you are more likely to play and move or delete the rest (you can always download them again).

Or just launch them through the Shell - you won't get the pretty icons but at least you can play the games then

Or use a game launcher like iGame or KGLoad. Like TCD has beaten me to saying

many solutions to play .. but my goal is not specialy to play all of them but to search how to preserve my chipmem

i know, if i want to play them, i can launch them by cli or frontend..it's not a problem .. but i love solving my "probs" when i find one and not get around them

ps : the drawer showed is 350 games .. but i only kept 50-60 of them, only french version, AGA version if both find etc ... but 50-60 is too much for the little chipmem

Wasn't there a hack which came with 3.5 (or 3.9) CD, wb2fast or something like, which could help.

Fblit is the solution, your NewIcons are eating up your chipmem.
You have to enable the RTG option for NewIcons to use FastMem for icon loading. Use NewIconsPrefs to set it.
