WinUAE and USB harddisk

I'd like to boot a real Amiga harddisk, formatted with SFS, via USB in WinUAE.
SFS is saved on harddisk rdb. Will WinUAE see the disk and be able to boot it?
Thanks.

I've got a real Amiga harddisk with OS3.9. I'll put the harddisk in an usb case and try to boot it under WinUAE.

Tried with a 420MB conner harddisk but winuae was not able to see the harddisk from the harddrives configuration window.
Does someone knows if uaescsi.device can be able to see usb harddrives?

uaescsi.device is wrong device name. It is uaehf.device.

make sure Windows detects the drive (disk management or device manager) Ancient drives can have compatibility problems with fast modes.

did you forgot to use "Add harddrive"-button?

check the log if "Add harddrive" does not see any drives.

(I am sure all questions have been answered here 3+ times already..)

disk management was not able to see the drive so i think there is some compatibility problem with this harddrive. I think the only way to use it is to attach it to the internal ide port of my desktop pc.
