Mods Jukebox is launched !!
Hi everybody
After many and many hours of hard work on it (about 9 hours just for today), the a b î me .net Mods Jukebox is finally a reality !!! The Jukebox have tons of cool features, with a powerfull playlist manager (cumulative filters), and all the fonctions are available in one or two mouse click. Of course, the player is based on the modplug plugin, so it will only produce sound under windows(tm) operating system. For the launch, I have already feed the database with 95 of my best oldschool mods, so it's arround 6 h 37 min for playing time Feel free to post any comments, ideas, bugs, greatings. and don't forget to submit your favourite mods ! Only one url : http://mods.abime.net/ ENJOY !! |

I'm swapping my web site server in the next week from Canada to the UK, so hopefully my site will be a lot faster.
I'll be uploading my personal favourite modules and some other Amiga software to this server. I dunno if you could link directly to my server for the tunes instead of taking ages to upload them manually. |

Looks excellent, great design!
But it maybe better to rename the files to .mdz. Else some browsers will associate all zips with the mod plugin. Isn't it possible to check the remaining length of a tune directly from the plugin so that the new tune will start exactly when the current ends? Do you use the connection speed only to calculate how long the download takes? |

to Khephren:
Yes, it will be possible to link directly the mods file from your server, but your serveur must be very fast for download (else the the calculate time will be wrong, and the jukebox will jump to the next mod before the current have time to finish) to Osmodia: Quote:

moreover: - the meta tags should be written before the plugin is called. - the remaining time displayed by the plugin is not always good. - for short chip tunes (< 60 sec), I let the mods play two times in the player, so it is a custom time Quote:

Er...what format do your mods come in?
I'd like to port a few over to Octamed, but before I start downloading etc... I thought I'd ask. Been a while since I got some new mods: not happy with the choices on aminet I've tried recently. |

Most of them are bog standard Noise/Pro Tracker formats which OctaMed can screw up, I mean import easily

Mods-Jukebox updated !
Thanks to new server (whitch is better every days), I have also boosted the Mods-Jukebox performance:
- You can upload directly your mods files up to 1Mb ! (no more 70ko) - When you click on a mod to play it through the playlist manager, it will be played infinitely ! (loop=true, no auto change) with this new fonction, you will able to listen to Manscape (108) during a few hours like I'm doing @BWT: all the mods are in standard format (Noise/Pro Tracker or Xm) |

I have just updated the [ a b î m e .net ] Mods-Jukebox engine
There is now two new information lists about our requested mods and the last uploaded mods ! Moreover, you can now directly listening to the last uploaded mods without going into the Playlist Editor. |
