DoomAttack source code
Anyone interested in this? I have the source code Georg Steger sent me a while back. I'm going to assume he's okay with it being "out there" since the original e-mail I said it was for uploading to Aminet.
.. but in the meantime, anyone who might be interested in it, can just send a PM or a reply in this thread and i'll PM you back with a link, and you guys can spread it amongst yourselves. Apparently there's a couple of minor things missing from it, but the bulk of it is there. |

Hiya,
Yep sure, I'm currently working on an AGA port of Boom as a side project and would probably get some ideas from looking at the DoomAttack source code |

I think i'll just upload it to the zone. That way anyone who wants it can get it, and it doesn't stay there forever, and i'll shoot off another email to Georg about it.
Edit: Now in The Zone. Maxon C 4 IDE project files probably missing. Last edited by MickJT; 04 August 2011 at 05:36. |

I didn't do that because I wasn't sure how complete or incomplete it was, and don't have any instructions on what tools are needed to compile it with, or any other instructions. Feel free to upload it yourself if you'd like. I've gotten the OK from Georg.

I'll upload it to AmiNet with a little readme then after I've checked out what's there.

Ok, just upload to AmiNet.
Had a quick look at the source, looks like most of it is there. |

I included a lot more files/archives inside the archive I uploaded to the zone, but I think almost everything, if not everything, is in the tmp/ directory anyway.

I'm new to Amiga programming, although I've played with many Amiga games and have a rough idea of what I should be aiming for with a Doom port.
I found the source here on aminet http://aminet.net/package/game/shoot/DoomAttack_src I see that ngcc is the compiler for DoomAttack. Has anyone managed to compile it successfully? I've purchased the Amiga Devloper 2.1 CD, and hope that it comes with the tools I need to compile it, as I'd like to optimise the port further. Can anyone offer any advice? |

Hiya,
Not sure about advice but I can tell you that it's going to be hard to build that source code and even harder to optimize it any further as it's already the fastest DOOM port for 030's. Not trying to put you off, just giving you the facts. I once tried to build ADOOM and didn't get very far, these old projects are very hard to build. |
