GAAE and 3.1 ROM colours messed up
Thank you for the CWB packs, great work.
I have been using the GAAE version for WinUAE for a while now and I have set up the config to mirror my A600, 2mb ram, 2gb CF, but when I change the rom to version 3.1 the palette becomes weird. I haven't tried it on my A600 yet but I was wondering what can be causing this problem. Last edited by Arnie; 02 March 2012 at 18:12. |

For a 3.1 ROM, you should be using the 68k version:
http://classicwb.abime.net/classicweb/68k2.htm I don't think the Palette format from WB 2.1 is compatible with 3.1 ROM. |

The thing is that when I open prefs/palette, the palette.ilbm is loaded and looks ok, I click on Save, reboot and the palette is messed up again.

I noticed that too - as I said, it seems to be a ROM/Workbench problem with colours above 4. Not sure if it can be fixed without jumping to the 68k version, which will work fine on an A600 with 3.0/1 ROMS.
There might be a program to set the magicwb colours on boot - like Full Palette, or a shell tool, but you'll have to check system requirements. I pulled FullPalette from that pack for a reason. There will be a way of setting the right colours on boot when using 3.1 ROMS with Workbench 2.1 but I can't remember offhand. Last edited by Bloodwych; 29 January 2012 at 17:30. |

I have tried fullpalette, but it needs datatypes.library and asl.library v39. Even after copying the needed libraries form a WB3.0 disk, it still wouldn't work properly.
I added the line ':Prefs/palette :prefs/presets/"wb greenpalette.pre" to the startup-sequence, it worked but, how to stop the pallete requester appearing? Does anyone know of a program to load a palette from startup for WB2.1? Last edited by prowler; 29 January 2012 at 23:06. Reason: Added <noparse> </noparse> tags |

There might be something here: http://aminet.net/search?query=palette
...that works with WB2. As for you Palette line, add USE to get rid of the requester. Place it at the end of your Startup-Sequence before LoadWB, or end of User-Startup file: SYS:Prefs/Palette USE "SYS:Prefs/Presets/Palettes/mwb default.pre" |

I have used the program ForcePal by Ron Hackett
Copy Forcepal to c: Copy ForcePal.prefs to S: add the line C:ForcePal S:ForcePal.prefs after C:IPrefs in the Startup-Sequence Edit the ForcePal.prefs file and add one of the following lines to the end of the file: 3,0,187,119 for Green (Alien). 3,0,102,238 for Blue (Earthling). 3,85,119,170 for Default. 3,153,85,136 for Wine.
