A600 - Corrupted window borders in Workbench

Hi,

I’ve recently bought an A600 which works well but has a problem where the left and right borders for Workbench windows appear corrupted sometimes. It doesn’t appear to affect games or DPaint. It only seems to happen if I set workbench to use less than 16 colours.

I’ve changed the kickstart ROM to 3.1, tried different workbench versions and recapped the majority of the motherboard (still have audio caps to do).

Grateful for any suggestions.

Thanks

Check screen mode in prefs. I wonder whether that is set incorrectly resulting in this as games and apps are independent of screen mode for Workbench.

Did you make a fresh install ? .. or do you use the stuff that was aready on the HD/CF/SD ?
hmmm
Simplest thing i guess would be to boot from a Workbench 3.1 floppy and see what happends there.

Just to be sure, try running a mbrtest-2 with all the tests for many cycles on your Chip RAM.

It could be a broken blitter.

Thanks I’ll give mbrtest-2 a try.

Thanks for the other suggestions as well - I have tried various screen modes including both NTSC and PAL and the same issue shows up. I’ve also tried various versions of Workbench from both CF card to Workbench boot disks.
