a new beta has been released: http://whdload.de/whdload/whd181.lha
it adds an update check for whdload and the slave/install if a network connection is available
supports connections via a http-proxy
network connection can also be disabled via global config
thanks to Robert Leffmann for the sha256 implementation

There is no difference to older versions. You should let WHDLoad disable the USB-Stack during startup using option ExecuteStartup.

I have a problem with 18.1. If I use it without internet conection the system freeze. If I use it with internet It works but games dosn't work well (known problem).
With 18.0 version it's all ok.

I have downloaded a script to start/stop miami and works but when I insert them in Whdload.prefs (whdload-startup/cleanup) It give me the dos error 205 code 10. I'm almost sure the path of the script is correct.

So I have to use 18.0 version. I dont mind cos it works very well but...

The WHDLoad archive contains example scripts at WHDLoad/S/WHDLoad-Cleanup. The line 'C:rx online.rexx' should work for Miami if I remember right. Use SnoopDos to find out what causes a error 205.

It freezes before the splash screen. I click in the icon game and nothing happends. I can only reset the Amiga.
I'll tryvthebonline.rexx script and snoop the process tomorrow.

With the release of beta 18.1 about 2 month ago I tried "ExecuteStartup=Execute S:WHDLoad-Startup" for the first time (just don`t need it) and I got similar results. As far as I can remember I tried also V18.0 and lower with no success and stopped testing. With the current 18.1 final it just works as expected (no problems, miamidx goes offline/quit with my script launched from S:WHDLoad-Startup). So, maybe differences between 18.1 beta and 18.1 final caused it? (Edit: Wrong, see post below). Or there might be a timing problem. I noticed in SnoopDOS log that preloading the game and miami quit run the same time (async).

Btw. which archive contain the online.rx/offline.rx example scripts? There is no in WHDLoad_18.1_usr.lzx. Same for 18.0 or 17.0_dev. I remember the scripts so there must be somewhere.

I could reduce the problem a bit. It seems how I start it cause the problem. There is a thread here about a problem when started with IGame what might be similar (Edit: wrong too. That problem was solved already). However, when I just double click on the game icon (DOpus5 as WB-Replacement environment) or via menu all seems work fine. Usually I start almost everything via WBRun and this make problems when "ExecuteStartup=Execute S:WHDLoad-Startup" is used/active. Problems means games don`t start and sometimes MuForce hits or Gurus. Here are two SnoopDOS logs:

Snoopdos says that whdload find ok the script but whdload shows the error.
I have tried with 18.0, beta 18.1 and stable 18.1 and none of them execute my script.

WHDLoad does not open the script so it cannot find it.
Execute will open it. So attach a log for further diagnostics.

Maybe the REXX stuff is asynchron. In this case I would recommend to add a wait in the REXX-script or the script called by WHDLoad.

I thought these were included with Miami. But I can't find them there ATM. Maybe there were in some extra package. The contents is simple:

It seems dos.SystemTagList crashes. Maybe because the Input/Output handles. What version on wbrun do you use?

Sorry, I found the problem. It wasn`t WBRun. There was an DOpus attribute "Output to ..." activated. Without it works. Strange that this let "Execute S:WHDLoad-Startup" fail. Btw. you are right with the Seglist. I got a MuForce hit "Seglist invailed".

If I use it with internet It works but games dosn't work well (known problem). With 18.0 version it's all ok. I have downloaded a script to start/stop miami and works but when I insert them in Whdload.prefs (whdload-startup/cleanup) It give me the dos error 205 code 10. I'm almost sure the path of the script is correct. So I have to use 18.0 version. I dont mind cos it works very well but... Last edited by tolkien; 22 April 2015 at 00:52.

daxb Registered User Join Date: Oct 2009 Location: Germany Posts: 3,307	With the release of beta 18.1 about 2 month ago I tried "ExecuteStartup=Execute S:WHDLoad-Startup" for the first time (just don`t need it) and I got similar results. As far as I can remember I tried also V18.0 and lower with no success and stopped testing. With the current 18.1 final it just works as expected (no problems, miamidx goes offline/quit with my script launched from S:WHDLoad-Startup). So, maybe differences between 18.1 beta and 18.1 final caused it? (Edit: Wrong, see post below). Or there might be a timing problem. I noticed in SnoopDOS log that preloading the game and miami quit run the same time (async). Btw. which archive contain the online.rx/offline.rx example scripts? There is no in WHDLoad_18.1_usr.lzx. Same for 18.0 or 17.0_dev. I remember the scripts so there must be somewhere. Last edited by daxb; 22 April 2015 at 17:34.

Strange that this let "Execute S:WHDLoad-Startup" fail. Btw. you are right with the Seglist. I got a MuForce hit "Seglist invailed".
